The Liberian government is close to signing an agreement with private, for-profit corporations to provide education.
The teachers’ union called on the government to consult with all concerned parties before agreeing to privatize and outsource the nation’s schools.
As we have seen in earlier communiques (see here and here), Western corporations are focused on Africa as fertile territory for low-cost, for-profit education, using ill-trained teachers who read from a script.

As part of the AP Human Geography curriculum, I teach about neo-colonialism. This will be one of my examples of neo-colonialism from now on.

Continual exploitation of black people worldwide. Fertile ground for capitalist to infiltrate. Leaders in this country have continued to sell out for the money. Sad but true to form.

All of your readers should know, if they do not already, that the billionaires are seizing power all over the world not just in the U. S. It is scary the amount of wealth and power which a relatively small group of people in the whole world are acquiring.
As the readers of this blog know too, they are seizing control of our schools not only with the charters but what children in public schools must be taught. Also 5 or 6 corporations control about 80% of the “news” that people get.
ERGO
Those in power can control pretty much what the majority of Americans read, thus, control the things that they believe and now seek to control what our children are taught to believe.
MY view: Hitler did the same thing. He had Goebbels, we have corporate America.
AND
again, Bernie is in my opinion the one person who MIGHT have the possibility of reversing this IF he can get the American people off their duffs, find out what is really happening and VOTE intelligently.
WE do not have a democracy. Only a relatively small group of people vote and at least some of them, if what I hear is correct go in and pull levers without ever researching the people for whom the vote. Put together, those in power buy our politicians. Politicians know who they must cater to to win elections.
The revolution Bernie is trying for can ONLY happen IF he has the backing and input from the American people. He has said as much. One of the many reasons I respect him. What other politician will make such an admission. Too, he has said and fought for the same things for 3 decades. We KNOW where he stands even if you do not agree with everything he proposes. Others vacillate after they see which way the wind is blowing.
Disagree if you will, and I feel certain many will but that is the way I see it.
Along with that, the program on BookTV which I promoted today on this blog will, if you watch it, perhaps turn your hair gray, grayer than mine when you see the depth of what is transpiring in this “land of the free, home of the “brave”.

I fear we all will be eating cake very soon. For the record, I like Black Forest cake and as a runner up the Red Velvet cake made by Everything Bundt Cake.
