A large group of principals in Chicago signed a petition opposing looming budget cuts. They said that the 400,000 students would suffer the loss of teachers and programs. They called on the city to roll back the personal income tax cuts that went into effect in January 2015.

As a teacher subjected to many falsehoods and harassment by administrators, better a Johnny come late than continuing on the suicide road. Maybe they finally realized that destruction of public education means an end to their job also.

Correction: The principals asked the State legislature to roll back the income tax cuts.
The cuts they are protesting amounts to 5,000 teacher cuts city wide in the middle of the school year. Think about the massive confusion when student schedules have to be reworked. Think about what the classroom size will become with teachers being told they no longer have a job.
The big question is will Chicago Mayor Emanuel allow this massive elephant to do damage when his approval rating with citizens and politicians in the democratic party is in a speeding free fall?
