Mayor Kevin Johnson (husband of Michelle Rhee) has announced that he will not run for re-election as Mayor of Sacramento.
He is very likely responding to the recent release of videos showing the interrogation of the teenager who accused him of molesting her many years ago and remained silent after receiving a financial settlement. Although he has been a popular mayor and very likely was eyeing a run for statewide office, the former superstar basketball player decided not to go through another campaign.

Do you notice who is NOT there?
Isn’t it obligatory that the spouse of a politician facing a press conference of defeat and despair should be present at such an event, rallying behind her spouse, standing by in the background in support of that politician?
She has no sense of loyalty. She obviously didn’t mean the “for better or worse” part of her marriage vows.
Is this a portent of things to come?
Ms. Rhee may fuming at him right now, as she’s now tied to a pedophilia scandal where the pedophile culprit is her own husband.
Anyone taking odds that Michelle will prove herself to be a fair-weather wife who jumps ship rather than stick by Kevin … ? He’s an ex-politician in disgrace over fondling a 15-year-old girl.
To Rhee, Kevin has gone from being an asset to being a major liability.
The two of them have gone from being a political power couple on the rise to a bad joke where people will now stop taking their calls.

The older allegation with the videotape is more explosive, for obvious reasons, but I bet he’s pretty worried about this one:
“A former aide in the Sacramento city manager’s office filed a claim last month against Mayor Kevin Johnson alleging the mayor sexually harassed her multiple times over a seven-month period at City Hall and that her supervisors did nothing to protect her, according to a copy of the claim obtained Thursday by The Sacramento Bee.”
That to me seems like a huge problem because the implication is people currently in government protected him. If true, it’s no longer just him and it threatens the people around him, people who may not want to resign or want a career past his tenure.

Florida Virtual does this and teachers have to be available by phone and computer daily from 8 am to 8 pm. It is not a for profit school but the State is saving a killing by raising the class loads significantly thus reducing the number of teachers needed for hire. The sad part is teachers in Florida Virtual are paid more than teachers in traditional public schools even though both are designated as Public Schools and governed by the Florida Department Of Education.

Yes, things like integrity, honesty and morals are but a small part of what it takes to be a man. This person has none of those qualities Not even close.
Sad, I actually remember a time when your word was your bond and morals, ethics and honesty were not the punch line of a joke but instead were something a person held in high esteam and perfected and honed over a lifetime.

Sizzle, crackle, pop. Love to watch him and his wife squirm, crash and burn. They are tainted goods, both of them, but it will be interesting to see how the elite circle of reformers get each of them into a consulting or other reform-based position, even if just in a non-profit-for-profit. Maybe Obama can slate the couple as the next Secretaries of Education? He seems to love him some KJ and Rhee. I wonder if this tainted her position at students first? Both of them should be prosecuted for their crimes against students. How can she stand to even look at him? What in the world attracted her to this pedophile, while all the while not just insinuating that the teachers in DC that she rubber roomed/fired were pedophiles, but she outright said they were. Ironic much? Her daughters must be ashamed of her.

Wonder if they will stay together to fleece Sacramento parents with even more of their charter schools? Wonder if her ex Huffman let’s his daughters visit them without a court appointed guardian present?

Who knows? But you know the old saying: It takes one to know one? I would argue that an enabler is the same. Unsettling to say the least, but who knows. I’m just glad that her kids are not in any close proximity to Kevin.
