I can’t come – my idea though would be to propose that public officials pull a Grover Norquist for education, and go down in a very big public place that either they’re for the things parents represent, or else they’ve refuted it. Get a few of the bigger liberal names on there like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and start showing voters who is willing to make a public commitment to true public education, and who is for portfolio schools that divide and destroy at the cost of our children and corporate profits.

And break it down very specifically so that it’s not the neo-liberal speak for Civil Rights and “public” charter schools.

You sound like you do not have much experience with multicultural background.

Honestly, I would never come and attend any important public meeting for civility that is against the current government’s policy. it is simply dangerous in dealing with “numb skull” fake police force.

Most of all, if you are a real and experience educator, then you must acknowledge that
civilization and legal system ONLY works and is respected + protected in educated and rich environment for any “ISM” ideology even if it is in fascism, communism, and capitalism.

Last of all, any Democrat, Conservative, and third party candidate whoever TRULY cares for civility, humanity, and public education rights, they will volunteer come to Chicago Conference on April 24, 25, & 26, 2015 or as early as to this upcoming Wednesday, January 21, 2015, so that they can truly meet with Dr. Ravitch and many other supporters in educational environment for their best chance to debate and show their true color of their promise in their platform.     We are talking two different matters:

    In this post, you confirm that you are lack of knowledge about being first generation of immigrants. Have you been fear of being fired, career damage, safety violation…? All immigrants, most of “old” black generation, and BGLT groups will tell you their experiences about multicultural sensitivity.
    
    In conclusion, adopted children NEVER have the same privilege as those biological children. They can work hard, work smart and dedicate their lives for their adopted country in order to enjoy THE PEACEFUL LIVING that their original country intentionally shut them out.
    
    All business tycoons, or exiled military officials and their close + distant families who destroy their original country and betray their own people cannot be allowed to come, live, and enjoy democratic lifestyle in America, Canada, Germany, Australia,…Most of all, they should not be allowed to bribe, or to influence, or contribute (donate to politicians) WITH A STRING ATTACHED to harm or to damage young generation in Public Education.
    
    So, I hope that you have a bit of understanding without any further debate. Biological educators cannot protect them or fight for their own civility, humanity, and important survival in Public Education. How can foreign educators or adopted children, with much less fluent linguistics and political rights, voice their “choked up” choice?
    
    This beautiful North America gives all of its children including biological, adopted, and mixed race a FREEDOM to choose how one wishes to live as super-human beings (care for the unfortunate); or as just normal sentient beings (greed, ego, and lust for fame and shame); or as animal (fight for living survival = bullying); last of all, as devil = below animal = DARVO (grasp and accumulate wealth by cheating and setting a trap to kill as many people unnecessarily as in case of sub-prime mortgage). A large part of the problem is the co opted language that serves as doublespeak for both “sides” – each side knows what it means but I think the lay person is not so aware of the nuances of special Ed, civil rights, equity for children and so on. Voters have a right to understand what their reps’ intentions are, and my sense is that confusing linguistics is why people vote as they do.

Taken one piece at a time, a lot of this makes sense until you see the entire machine and how it performs in practice, and which narrative you choose to believe whether it’s a Won’t Back Down greedy union or a greedy privatizer/politician will give you context.

Voters need the clear policy statements and narratives that give context to why we are doing what we are. Right now, the best PR machine wins, until voters realize the implications to develop individual counter ideas.

Thank you for continuing on with this very important work. I wish I could fly out from California, but I hope to be able to join you later in Chicago. Stay actively involved and please go at a pace appropriate to your current health. I hope that Senator Alexander slows down the renewal process long enough for California parents to get involved after their children are told that they are not as smart as they have been led to believe when the new SBAC test results come out this summer for the first year of testing. These parents from the upper middle class could be the tipping point. I hope your conference goes well.
