The Néw York Times reports that John King will be “senior advisor” to Arne Duncan and the second highest ranking official in the Department. Wrong. His position does not require Senate confirmation. He is outranked by the Undersecretary and possibly by various Assistant Secretaries who were confirmed by the Senate.

Just more hog-spittle from the NY Times, regurgitating the press release that “spins” this as a promotion.

I know it may seem naïve for me to even say this, but still… How is it that someone so incompetent rises’ in influence…? It strikes me (again) that there is something wrong with the structure of our society when the power hungry are allowed to occupy every position of influence and the insightful and competent are marginalized as radical… not to be esoteric, but does this say something consciousness of our species… I mean Eric King is the definition of incompetent megalomaniac… who thought that it was a good idea to promote him…? My God….

King speaks the corporate edu-speak that Duncan and Co. love- that is all that matters.

So TRUE! I feel like I am living the CRUSADES. We are all at risk unless we belong to their repressive clubs.

When I was older, I had to deal with failure most of the some time.
My “tool box” was empty full of confused clarity. I had a half inch
wrench that FAILED to tighten loose a three quarter inch nut screw.
A one cup measuring cup that FAILED to hold two cups. Indeed, I
was innocently guilty of pretending to believe the close distance
was shortened to length by sensible nonsense.
In all honesty, would ANY government establish a cultural appartus
AGAINST itself? Would it not be more inclined to cultivate a culture
to INHIBIT disruptive thought and actions towards the Government,
(Engineering Consent)?

Is that a fact? More than not it seems we DON’T have “elections”,
we have “auctions”, considering 90+% of the time, those who spend
the most, win the most…

I’ll say it again….Politics will always trump pedagogy.

Democrats take note—any candidate who does not repudiate the crap that King and the fat cats pushing him spew will be doomed to the same support the voters showed in the recent election cycle- NONE!

This is a good start. If we can get all the reformsters in one place, it will be easier to keep an eye on them.

Just because he’s not confirmed doesn’t mean he won’t be the most influential.
Observe all the other Executive “Czars” that were never “confirmed”.

David King may be outranked, but who will Arne Duncan give more power to? Duncan has already trampled on the U.S. Constitution a number of times. I don’t think he cares who outranks who.

In fact, Arne Duncan and the Obama administration may be grooming David King to become the next Secretary of the DOE.

Am furious that my tax $$$ are being wasted on this clown-“advisor.” As I’d said in an earlier post, I just imagine him sitting around in his wheelie chair surfing the net…along w/many other D.o.Ed. employees, to be sure.
