David thinks back a century. Other oligarchs owned almost everything then. Of course, it didn’t occur to them to monetize the schools.
But we beat them back. We elected people to regulate the oligarchs. We can do it again.

Who to vote for? The oligarchs are everywhere; left, right; it is difficult to know who the enemy is. Personally, I believe the progressives are the enemy and what they are progressing toward is a global oligarchy.

Really? The Koch brothers are progressive? I am not defending progressives because there are enough of them with their hands in the destroy public education pot, but come on. Let’s be honest as to who is bankrolling the elections around this country that have given us Walker, Jindal, Scott, pence, Christie, etc.

Until we understand that party politics are a farce of the political elite to keep the masses believing that if they pull the lever for democrats we are voting for the people and if we pull it for the republicans we are voting for corporate pigs then we will continue to battle vainly toward the same end.
The left and the right simply play the Hegelian ploy with appearances of two supposedly opposite views that are leading us all directly to where both sides wanted us all along. Individual culprits don’t matter because all roads lead to the central bankers and we are simply pawns in a game which already has a forgone conclusion. I respect the passion of all the teacher/bloggers on this site, but is the simplistic view that simply blaming the right will lead to human liberation that has allowed all of you to be blindsided by this fascist attack on public education from people who include many whom you did or would have voted for.
I am now seeing a similar attack on my vocation, nursing, with the merging of the of the educational and political elite with all the power that the big money of the corporate world provides ensnaring us in a political system where we will be lucky if we will have enough liberty to choose a cheeseburger over celery sticks. This will progress as planned. It must be comforting to have such a clear view of who the enemy is, but I think the truth is far more complex than you are ready to see.

I think it is wrong to paint either party with too broad a brush though I am also discouraged by how Dems have acted against the wishes of their constituents. We do have some good people as well as some scoundrels in both parties and we need to affirm them with our support.
