I usually don’t worry about the hedge fund managers when they are hanging out with VIPs like Andrew Cuomo, but I just received inside information that the Camp has been infiltrated!
Hedge fund managers! Watch what you say! Trust no one!
There is a public school teacher—more than one, actually–who has entered the sacred grounds of Camp Phalos.
I know you have security. But they slipped up and let in a real public school person. Or more than one.
Be careful. Look over your shoulder.
Be alert! You never know who might be listening or if the person you are talking to really is who he says he is.
Danger around every corner.
That’s right, hedge fund managers, you never know what we are capable of doing. LOL!
Camp Phalos?
Freudian typo in reference to those who attend??/
Duane Swacker: typo? Nope, Diane is just following doctor’s orders.
¿? A eminent practitioner of the life-saving art of Laughology:
“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” [Charlie Chaplin]
And given the attendees [“thought leaders” no less!] at Camp Pomposity, I am put in mind of another Doctor of Laughology:
“Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.” [Mark Twain]
😎
Haha, I had that same thought.

Cuomo a “no show?”
He can run from his record. He can try to hide from his record.
However his political oppnents are making the attack ads as he runs and as he hides, that just may bring him down. He has given his opponents enough ‘ammunition’ and a target big enough, that he should be very worried. The landslide/mandate that he so desperately needs for his springboaard to the national stage is nothing more than a pipedream.
He has lost the teachers/administrators
He has lost many concernred parents
He has lost the hunters and target shooters
he has lost many state workers
He has lost many union members
He has lost the environmentslists
He has lost the pro-fracking Southern tier
He has lost all law abiding citizens struggling to pay college bills
He has lost his father’s admirers
He has lost many true democrats
He has lost tall those citizens who have pride in the great state of New York and realize that Andrew Cuomo is now a political embarassment, a coward, and a complete demagouge.
He has lost the under 30 vote as no young adult would ever want to have to admit voting for this dishonest and ruthless candidate whos only allegiance is to himself and his political ambitions.
I wonder if he’s lost his father’s faith in him too…seems curiously absent.
Andrew is so arrogant that I wouldnt be surprised if he disallows any interference from his father. Just trying to prove he is his own man. Who knows. But Mario’s silence is intriguing.
The best he could do was a video? I hope they projected just his head, enlarged and green, surrounded by smoke and flame, like the Wizard of Oz. Unfortunately for Andrew, the curtain has been pulled back long ago.
And Outside In The Cold, Wind And Rain Were Hundreds of Picket In The Pines Protesters Now Warming Up With Cocoa and Confirmation That They Did The Right Thing By Standing Up And Speaking Out!
Reporter Is CHRIS FASOLINO For The Press-Republican
LAKE PLACID — Hundreds of teachers and parents from across the state gathered on a cold, rainy Sunday for a protest called Picket in the Pines.
The protest was in reaction to a retreat that Governor Andrew Cuomo was attending at the Whiteface Lodge called Camp Philos.
Camp Philos was billed as “a philosopher’s camp on education reform,” with high-profile guests, including Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana. Attendance reportedly costs $1,000 per person, or $2,500 for a VIP ticket.
The schedule included sessions entitled “Up, Down, and Sideways: Building an Effective School Reform Coalition” and “Adequacy, Fairness and Equity: School Finance in an Age of Austerity.”
Camp Philos was seen by protesters as “a private meeting of hedge fund investors brought together by the governor to talk about education reform,” said Fred Monaco, regional staff director for New York State United Teachers. The picket was intended both to respond to Camp Philos and “to promote public education.”
“We were outside in the rain and cold and wet; they were inside in a comfy lodge,” Monaco said.
Despite the weather conditions, however, Picket in the Pines was attended by hundreds of teachers and parents who were bused in from across the state.
“The turnout was remarkable given the weather conditions,” said Monaco, noting that one event at the picket was attended by approximately 350 people.
Attendees also included students from SUNY Plattsburgh’s education program.
“They came down to learn more about the industry they’ve decided to join.”
The crowd participated in a walk from the picket’s staging area to the grounds of Whiteface Lodge.
Speakers included Karen Magee, president of NYSUT; Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers; Frederick Kowal, state president of United University Professions; and Billy Easton, executive director of the Alliance for Quality Education.
Megan O’Brien of Plattsburgh is a NYSUT member who worked with picket line captains.
“We’re out here to make a point,” she said, expressing concern about “taxpayer money going to large corporations like Pearson for standardized tests that would be better developed by educators.
“Our main goal is to show our frustration with what the Governor is doing with public education.”
According to a NYSUT statement, the event was intended to call attention to “efforts by hedge fund managers and Wall Street tycoons to privatize public education; expand standardized testing and the Common Core; collect and manage private student data; push test-based teacher evaluation systems; and remove teachers — and their unions — from important decisions about the future of public education.”
According to the Camp Philos website, the retreat was intended to provide “three days of fun, fellowship and strategy with the nation’s thought leaders on education reform.”
I thought it was Camp Nihilos, since these people are nothing more than vandals in three piece suits, Camp Phalos works just fine.
Michael, the infiltrators actually referred to the event as Camp Phallus but I try to avoid vulgarity.
Is this a good idea to warn the fake ed reformers of insurgents in their midst? The billionaire oligarchs might call in heavily armed mercenaries who might interrogate everyone and/or do an FBI background check and then kick anyone out they suspect.
By the way, the infamous Blackwater—due to bad press—changed its name to Academi (sounds like an educational institution) and they have a 7,000 acre training facility in North Carolina and an army of 20,000.
If anyone at Camp Phallus has badges on that identifies them as working for Academi, you’ll know who they are.
Wow reminds me of a fascist army
Randi Weingarten made an appearance at yesterday’s picket to lend support to the educators and parents who had gathered. Here is her speech delivered to the crowd:

This is funny and yet, the laugh of the day so far is from POLITICO’s report as reported elsewhere by Diane Ravitch: “DFER, meanwhile, was undaunted by the protests. Executive Director Joe Williams said: “If anything, a lot of people here are used to being the ones out there protesting, so it is fascinating to witness it from the other side.:” Yeah Joe, straight from those barricades to Whiteface Lodge– it’s a natural progression for your “movement.” Got it.
Yeah, don’t you remember seeing him and his buddies at Occupy Wall Street?
Well they shouldn’t have been left out. It would be better if the group remained unaware of their presence.
It is all starting to sound like The Wizard of Oz
with Andrew and the Philos crew behind the curtain
“I am the great and powerful Andrew….”
and we know how that ended.
We will prevail!
Dorothy: How do you talk if you don’t have a brain?
Scarecrow: Well, some people without brains do an awful lot of talking don’t they?
Wicked Witch of the York: You cursed brat! Look what you’ve done! I’m melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little girl like you [Diane] could destroy my beautiful wickedness? Oooooh, look out! I’m going! Oooooh! Ooooooh!
Look who else is behind the curtain: Howard Dean. I think a mouse snapped the picture.
OMG. I had no idea a twitterpic link would come up like that! It’s awaiting moderation.
It’s beautiful bright image of Dean in the cozy Philos conference room, with a live Follow button for the reporter who posted it. He promises an expose tomorrow.
