Advocacy groups have posted a petition on change.org calling for the removal of John King as state commissioner.
Parents and educators reject King’s blind faith in high-stakes testing and his determination to evaluate educators based on test scores, despite the absence of evidence for this approach and the certain negative consequences.

Good to see the PEOPLE taking back their POWER> I hope people learn that when you give Govt. too much power, they abuse it. It all sounds good when they buy you off, but all you do is become a slave.

I think what happens is they delve into matters and hire people who have never been in a classroom of diverse young children.
They seem to Know not the non-academic talents of these young people.
They demean the children if they are not all academically gifted and therefore destroy the hopes, self confidence, and futures of these non-academic children who talents are an integral part of making our world a productive society.
Education should be for all….not a mass production of One-Size!!

I a not a New Yorker, so I am not familiar with the power structure. I’m guessing that he has significant influence with the power brokers even if he does not call the shots.

Thank you for using “blind faith,” rather than faith-based. Entirely different meaning, aptly used here.

Nope, faith based just like any religious faith, a belief in an ideology that has so many contradictions that to believe in said ideology can only be sustained by a blind faith way of thinking, certainly not by logical thinking.

Doesn’t matter if he is not calling the shots. He can be considered by those who do as the canary in the coal mine.

Well, maybe he’ll get a whiff of some noxious gas and keel over.
