I mentioned a few days ago that I will have a regular Monday conversation with Pete Dominick on Sirius-XM at 7:35 am EST or thereabouts. At the time I did not know which channel the show is on.
It is 104.
Last week we talked about testing. Pete takes callers, so call in.

I love Pete’s show and make sure to catch every one of Diane’s segments. Pete Dominick is probably the biggest influence on why I started writing and he’s definitely the reason I pay for satellite radio.

I would like to hear about the US News and World Report High School rankings. Any comments, anyone?

It’s pure bunk, and I’m being generous with that characteristic.
A better description is “100% Pure Grade AA Bovine Excrement”.

Whoo hoo. If that’s 6:35 am central, I usually won’t be in my car. From my Android phone on T-Mobile. The first nationwide 4G network.

Is there an internet link? Or are the programs archived somewhere?

Unfortunately, I am on bus duty at 7:35 a.m. EST every weekday morning. I would LOVE to hear you, though.

Still cannot get to listen. I am on straight through until lunch time. The schedule is crazy this year. Three days a week, I go 3 1/2 hours without a chance to use the bathroom. It’s a.m. duty then immediately four back-to-back classes. There’s nobody in my wing to relieve me even for three minutes. Anyway, best wishes for a great show!

The show is available on demand (online) though you still need a subscription with access to online streaming. Pete could provide an mp3 audio file that Diane could upload here.

He did provide that file but I have not figured out how to upload it here.

Congratulations on the show!
I listened to the one you provided a link to, great job, as always.
Unfortunately, I do not have Sirius. I hope you will be able to post more links.
The conversation did get me to thinking about what a hard row to hoe we have..even with those who would/should/could be our allies.
The beast called education (de)form is a many headed creature. There is just so much disinformation out there that many of the actually well intentioned (not those in the deform business…I don’t think I will ever be convinced that any of that crew were, in any way, well intentioned toward public schools, kids, and certainly not teachers..IMOH), anyway, the J.Q. Public types have been on a steady diet of lies, misdirection and fear mongering regarding schools and teachers for the last 20 years or so, that as soon as you dispel one myth there are 200 more popping up.
We all need to keep talking, keep posting to other forums, continue writing letters to the editor etc. We have to teach…In addition to our day jobs, which contrary to what many think, are not 8 to 3 with 4 months off!
😉
Perhaps NPE could work on some fact sheet/talking points we could post the heck out of?
Just a thought.
Again, great job on the radio show, I loved it!

Thanks LG,
(always appreciate/enjoy your posts, BTW)
I am no great writer and a rotten typist…I am sure you all have noticed..;-)
But I would be proud to help in any way I could, if NPE wanted to do such a thing!
