I know this has nothing to do with the inbloom post, but I had to share it somewhere on this blog. Earlier in the year a far west suburb of Chicago, the city of Aurora, passed a proposal out of committee to be voted on by the full city council to give out bonuses (merit pay) to all police officers if the city went murder free for one year. Just now I realized that I never followed up to see what happened with it. I just looked it up and it passed and is now in effect in the city of Aurora, IL to pay $500 bonuses to police if the city goes murder free for one year.
