Jersey Jazzman never sleeps. I get that. He is so outraged by the constant torrent of nonsense in the media that he has to deconstruct it.
In this post, he throws up some clay pigeons and knocks them all down, one by one.
The big one is the stuff put out by Margaret Spellings to put down New Jersey.
Since New Jersey is one of the nation’s top performing states, JJ doesn’t take kindly to the former Secretary’s misreading of NAEP data, nor the praise for Newark’s charters.
Jersey jazzman is one of the most amazing resources we have in NJ for deconstructing the rhetoric, lies and smokescreens. He deserves an award for his tireless efforts to debunk and educate. I am proud to have him represent NJ. You go, JJ!
Ditto. And I’m equally proud to call him a brother music teacher here in NJ.
Jersey Jazzman is a true intellect, a tour de force of analysis and fact finding.
What we may want to think about also is the myriad “think tanks” (I prefer “stink tanks”) that conduct their own research, are well funded by people like Eli Broad and Bill Gates, and spew out data to the public in the most distorted way. And what looks impressive to the public stands out as a falsehood to anyone who knows how to crunch and interpret numbers.
I have learned the hard way over the years that numbers NEVER lie, but the way they get presented to the public can very much be editorialized. Statistics don’t fib, but statisticians do.

Where does he find the time? In fact where do both of you find the time? Well where ever you do, THANKS SO VERY VERY MUCH! You are both a light in, what seems to becoming, very dark times.
Always useful, well-documented information fron Jersey Jazzman. Thank you.
