Here is the most recent newsletter of the Network for Public Education.
It contains a clear statement of principles: what we are for and what we oppose.
Please read and forward to your friends.
If you belong to a group that is fighting for public schools, send them a copy of the newsletter and ask them to join us as an ally in the struggle to beat back corporate reform, privatization, mass school closings, and the punitive use of testing to stigmatize children, teachers, and schools.

I will send continue to spread the word.
Diane, I just watched your speech (North Carolina) posted on Chalk face. Thank you so much. Is the text of your speech available, especially your closing?

I can’t wait for your book. I think there were some highlights. Rhee and others should be very worried. 🙂

Diane, Thank you! Thank you for your tireless advocacy! Thank you for explicitly including school librarians in your statement of purpose as critical resources for students, and thank you, too, for supporting democratic control of schools. I have been shocked by the proposed elimination of our school’s vital, thriving library program this week – I am reeling. I look forward to seeing you at UOO Occupy the DOE soon!
