For the wildest, most gross use of high stakes testing you have ever heard of, do a quick read of Education Termination at http://www.mountainmaninsights.org In this education fable, the principles that Diane advocates are total violated. Teachers are powerfully shamed. Students are literally thrown out of the schools. The schools themselves are closed on a larger scale than is currently proposed in Chicago.
A good fable makes a point. In this one, it is STUDENTS FIRST. Otherwise all else gets lost in the bureaucracy and politics.
I have deliberately created a nightmare story of real-world education trends gone wild. Education Termination is so emotionally powerful, it will serve as a wake up call to thousands of parents and teachers who are now on the sidelines.
