A parent who supported Parent Revolution’s efforts to turn his school into a charter says the organization promised to pay him. He says he and other parent activists were sent around the country to promote the movie “Won’t Back Down,” which flopped at the box office. One parent leader in Adelanto was hired to work for the billionaire-funded faux-grassroots group.
Be sure to read the comments.
It is encouraging to read that those who were enticed to sell out their schools and those who otherwise have information are coming forward with their stories, both in this story and in the comments section.
Shouldn’t this be a crime? What about convicting people for bribery? I wish a journalist would do an investigative piece on this.
Hey, you can’t pull a Trigger without a few Hired Goons, er, Guns …
Trigger has been dead for almost 48 years now! (He died on my tenth birthday.)
Various of the Adelanto parents said the same thing when interviewed many weeks back.
A charter company will do nothing for this community. It’s unbelievable how crooked this story has become.
Once again commenting without knowing what you are talking about. Never comment on a legal issue unless you know the law, rules and regulations of such. The illegally obtained signatures of every Parent Trigger so far by Ben Austin’s Parent Revolution, really the billionaire boys club group, show its lack of concern for the law and ethics. There is a spot on the Parent Revolution’s website for the rules and regs. for Calif. It is empty and not by accident. They also have no information on their work in Florida such as the video and proposed 15 page Parent Trigger law for Florida.
Concerning California all you have to do is go to reg. 4, page 2, item (g) and there is the regulation for obtaining a Parent Trigger that must be followed in order to be legal. If you do not know what you are really talking about how do you ever expect to beat those with buildings full of lawyers there just to rip you off especially when you do not know and they do. So do some reading and then let us have some fun with them. I am and I know of what I speak. Do you really think you could last more than a few seconds in public against someone who knows and you do not? I can guarantee the results of that. You lose.
George,
To whom are your remarks addressed? Do you think that people should have no views about the consequences of public policy unless they have read the legislation? NCLB runs to about 1,100 pages. Shall we suspend all public discussion until everyone has read the law in its entirety?
well public policy should be read in its entirety to be fully understood and interpreted, we all have heard of obamacare and Nancy Pelosi’s famous comment. social and emotional learning for political action… common core loves this debate!
