Coach Bob Sikes reports here that Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Educational Excellence is under fire by groups who claim that it is promoting the for-profit interests of its corporate sponsors.
The Bush foundation, which presumably has a tax exemption, claims that 90% of its funding comes from philanthropic donors, not corporations.
This investigation in Maine shows the relationship between the Bush foundation, its chief strategist, and the corporations that stood to benefit financially from the activities of the Bush team.
And any investigation into the connection between the Foundation for Education Excellence and its sponsors should definitely look at the Ten Elements of Digital Learning. (Notice the long list of corporate sponsors, all in the business of selling digital products.)

“Philanthropic donors” *are* corporations, at least for all intents and purposes. The kinds of people who have enough money to make donations large enough to be considered “philanthropic” are corporate stake-holders of some stripe or other. They make be making their “philanthropic donations” under their own names as personal individuals, but they do so with their eye on their corporate interests.
The entire Bush clan, including nephews, etc. have been milking the educational reform corporations since “W,” that dubious poster boy for intellectual pursuits 😦 struck the first blow to “enhancing” education with his, now discreet-ed, NCLB. But not before his clan made millions on all aspects of that governmental, ruinous disaster! Knowing the contempt W showed for intellectuals of any stripe, it is curious that he would be so fervent in his quest for raising academic excellence. Jeb is now being touted as a
strong candidate for ’16, solely by the press! Hmmm, what has HE done to merit such accolades, besides being a party to the ’02 election debacle in his state. More corporate conniving to achieve their ends! It would appear the same corporate shenanigans are in full array to make millions in the quest to trash teachers, push $ making charters and reduce our country to ever lower scores in the world ratings of educational excellence! Rather like vultures feasting on roadkill, and I’d say teachers are the biggest victims, and Jeb & his ilk are the epitome of charlatans of philanthropy!
Little Bush made millions off of the NCLB Act in the early 2000’s. That whole family should be in jail.
Oh, if you only knew ALL the reasons that is where this entire family should reside…there are some factual books about Bush 1, and God knows how many about the whole sale destruction wrought by “W,” it would appall you! The Bush family are marinated in secret socieities like Skull and Bones, The Bohemian Grove, Bilderbergers, Tri-laterialists; to say nothing of the CIA! If you doubt it, just check out the Presidential Orders that “W” signed into law and FEW people are aware of…thanks to our People Magazine press that charade as purveyors of truth and guardians of the nation, we are kept ignorant of these people and the cabals they lead that do unthinkable damage to our country in the pursuit of power. just reflect on: KNOWINGLY lying us into wars, trashing the bill of rights, etc. And those are just actions they couldn’t keep the lid on! Now Jeb is spear-heading the destruction of public education for, I feel dual reasons: the corporate, ravenous pursuit of money, and the intentional dumming down of the USA! An ignorant, non-critical thinking public will easily fall prey to despots, and machinations of corporate/globalists plans charading as beneficial to the nation. Students know more about trivia than they do history,
civics, etc. This descent into 1984 paths didn’t just happen…
Which Bushie brother had the crappy software that the schools who got NCLB or Bush foundation money were invited(pressured) to buy? Inspire or Aspire or Excite? Something like that… Even Babs got in on that one. Then of course there’s the whole DIBELS fiasco and the Reading First mess cooked up by Gee-dub’s good buddies in education deform/corporate gain land.
Good question! As is so appallingly apparent, the press in all its forms are pushing Jeb for ’16! OMG! Another “Bushie” to complete the destruction of the last two??? Seems that Jeb thinks “education destruction,” opps, Freudian slip, “reform” will be his gold mine and that of his corporate raiders! Darn sure, no degree or experience needed to pontificate about the ills of education in this country! Sad, so sad, so destructive! This Bush bunch’s’, corporate ties should be exposed loudly and often. Maybe it will awaken the public to the tentacles of the 21st century’s version of the Robber Barons and the similar ruination of the American worker and quality of life. Just like the old bunch in the Victorian era, they rape and pillage, then think that being “philanthropic” will cover their greedy sins of feeding upon the citizenry. “Fool me once (J.D. Rockefeller and Company) shame on you: fool me twice, shame on a vapid public who, through ignorance and lack of concern, endorses their own destruction!
Just as some made money off NCLB, many will make money off Common Core. And who is making money off the CSCOPE scandal in Texas that involves the Educational Service Centers? When it comes down to it both sides have an agenda and are out to make money. Meanwhile it’s the children who are left behind.
True, but please address the other victims; namely “older teachers” who can be replaced by TFA, “Blue light specials” version of teachers! The hundreds of teachers who have been destroyed by the these predatory corporatist s, unfortunately join the ranks of the same corporate raider mindset of the Romneys and ilk who off source jobs, then call the jobless, American workers, “takers.” If the public doesn’t become aware of thinly veiled corporate jackals, they, too may become victims! I have been told by numerous doctors that the same corporate raiders are doing the same destruction to even THAT profession! Maybe the Bush bums will produce medical degrees in 10 weeks, instead of all those years; according to them, a little TFA for doctors would really enrich their bottom lines and the victims probably would literally be buried!
