The New York Times reported on the latest poll: Kamala Harris has a significant lead over Trump in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin!
The politics of joy beats the politics of hate.
Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald J. Trump in three crucial battleground states, according to new surveys by The New York Times and Siena College, the latest indication of a dramatic reversal in standing for Democrats after President Biden’s departure from the presidential race remade it.
Ms. Harris is ahead of Mr. Trump by four percentage points in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, 50 percent to 46 percent among likely voters in each state. The surveys were conducted from Aug. 5 to 9.
The polls, some of the first high-quality surveys in those states since Mr. Biden announced he would no longer run for re-election, come after nearly a year of surveys that showed either a tied contest or a slight lead for Mr. Trump over Mr. Biden…
Much of the newfound Democratic strength stems from improved voter perceptions of Ms. Harris. Her favorability rating has increased 10 percentage points among registered voters in Pennsylvania just in the last month, according to Times/Siena polling. Voters also view Ms. Harris as more intelligent and more temperamentally fit to govern than Mr. Trump….
Les Lanser, a retiree from Holland, Mich., who typically votes Republican, said he was considering backing Ms. Harris in November. While he disagrees with some Democratic policies, he said he could not stand Mr. Trump’s “disrespectful” and “unacceptable” attitude.
“Some of her character is real appealing to me. I’m not so sure I agree with a lot of her policies,” said Mr. Lanser, 89, who regrets supporting Mr. Trump in 2016. “But the alternative is just not acceptable at all in my mind — because character is everything.”
The polls offer an early snapshot of a race that was transformed in little more than two weeks. The whirlwind of political change seized the nation’s attention and reinvigorated some voters who were approaching the rematch between Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump with a deep sense of dread.

What is CURRENTLY stopping Harris from:
Codify a woman’s right to choose.
Passing laws supporting unions.
Protecting the environment.
Supporting gay rights.
Passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
Passing gun control legislation, including background checks and a ban on AR-15 type assault weapons.
Is she a ritual shy, of having the power to do what Joe didn’t? Is Joe CURRENTLY stopping Harris from enacting her solutions?

Being a vice president in a time when the opposition party controls the house? Just guessing.

The Vice-President can’t pass ANY laws. Congress—both houses—pass laws. When the Republicans control the House, nothing proposed by a Democratic President (or VP) passes without Republican support.

And Congress is mostly sitting on its hands and refusing to pass anything. This is being “led” by the he House, which has a Republican majority.

Are you serious asking what is stopping a Vice President from passing legislation?

If Harris has the solutions, why couldn’t Joe could mouth Harris solutions, as his own, RIGHT NOW? Why would any of the claimed supporters object to Joe acting on behalf of Harris, RIGHT NOW?

Because Republicans control the House of Representatives

AND the House has a vested interest in making the Democratic administration seem unwilling to pass an agenda. Didn’t you hear about the bipartisan immigration bill that was flowing smoothly until Trump threatened members of Congress?

NoBrick: Even when they had a BIPARTISAN bill for the border problems, Trump made his little phone calls to his scaredy-cat minions in Congress telling them to ditch it, and they did. And he’s not even holding office right now.
Trump did it because he wanted to be sure the border DID NOT GET FIXED while Biden was in office–so that he (Biden) would become more political meat for Trump to complain about as the election neared.
That’s just one . . . Where’ve you been? CBK

What about the border, crime, inflation, overall economy? You want gun control? Get those guns out of the hands of the criminals and thugs. These are the main issues along with jobs and taxing people into oblivion, Not much from her on that. A lot of the donkey voters don’t seem to be all that concerned either.

Correct. Remember FDR in the Great Depression? Happy days are here again. Not be scared of the other. Remember Carter? I bet he would like to reel that “malaise “ speech back in.
Still, there are periods when grievances get people elected. Nixon. Jesse Helms. John C Calhoun. Andrew Jackson.
I wonder why it works sometimes.

I am getting very hopeful that Harris/Walz is a winning ticket and that they will prevail in the upcoming election. I mistakenly thought that the attempted assassination of Trump, with his fierce reaction on that day, would assure him the presidency. Fortunately, I was wrong, Trump buries himself every time he opens his mouth with his lies, juvenile insults, crude remarks, bizarre bloviations, nutty conspiracy theories and word salad balderdash.
Go Harris/Walz go, right to the White House!

Joe Jersey: Yes, that picture of Trump mouthing the “F-word” on national television just after he was hit was so attractive, under any other circumstances, it should have “assured his presidency.” I cried. CBK

Has there ever been a president in US history that got everything they wanted regarding their policies?
I googled it.
What I found was this:
How effectively have recent presidents achieved their aims? This piece only covers Obama, Trump and Biden. I wanted to find a source that covers every president, but I have other stuff to get done today.
None of them got everything they wanted to get done.
The Politics Shed – How effectively have recent presidents achieved their aims? (google.com)
My advice: vote for the best person for the job, and do not waste your time basing your decision on all of the things they say they want to get done.
Traitor Trump is a dictator love, a convicted rapist, fraud and felon who lies all the time and is ranked as the worst president in US history. That short list of flaws, by itself, easily makes Traitor Trump a total loser compared to Harris and Walz.
