In the midst of the pandemic, with Americans subject to a deadly disease, the Trump regime filed yet another court effort to invalidate Obamacare. This would strip millions of people of health insurance.
How cruel.
Do Trump voters know?

You know how it is with those obnoxious, snotty, rich kids. They would rather break their toys than allow others kids play with them. A spoiled child’s mind in an adult body = trump.

Strategically, the ACA is the first step toward universal health care–it may come in 5 or 50 years, but the day will come. It will never be peeled back, there can only be progress. Republicans realized this. They fear the another round of Social Security or Medicare, marginally popular programs at their inception that cannot be eliminated without a massive backlash that will hurt Republicans for decades. Republicans realize this, but they will continue to try to repeal ACA with the full knowledge it will come back, and then they will try to repeal it again. They would rather be fighting this fight over and over again because it distracts from other issues (today it’s judges and unaccountable spending) than see it entrenched and grow toward its inevitable conclusion.

To some extent I think Trump is more interested in erasing Obama’s legacy than saving lives in the country. His malignant narcissism is on full display. He is a danger to vulnerable people and all the rest of us too. He is putting politics ahead of public health.

The Idiot’s hate of his predecessor fits right in with the goals of the Republican Party on this issue. This particular fight goes way beyond personalities and egos.

All I can say is that my millennial sons, as free-lance music teachers/ audio technicians, would have been sans health insurance for the last 5 yrs w/o the ACA. And that pulling the plug on ACA during a time when their hours have been reduced due to covid-19 would be crazy & cruel. It’s not like hey’ve been costing the country much. Their policies are high-deductible; they have only the primary care provided by low-cost clinics, for godsake. One’s salary is so low [during his transition from audio-tech to music-teacher], he qualified for NJ’s expanded Medicaid – & finally found a “free” [Medicaid-provided] psych therapist for depression. Very important to our family, as we lost our eldest to a combo of genetically-inherited phys & mental illness.
Can we get a freaking break here?
