Students are joining protests today to demand action on climate change.
One teen has become the face of this movement: Greta Thunberg.
She has been tireless in calling attention to the need to take action now to save the planet.

In the U.S., Trump has been tireless in rolling back every environmental protection. Even his children and grandchildren will suffer because of his war on clean air and clean water.

Listen up, world:
“I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful. I want you to panic.” –Greta Thunberg
Imagine if Donald Trump had a hundredth of the intelligence, compassion, and education that GT has!!!!
Thank you, Ms. Thunberg!!!

Anyone interested in starting one of those polls that predicts when Trump will troll and insult Greta Thunberg with the first rancid Tweet that will go after her?
No betting money. Just pick a date-and-time to see who gets closest to when Trump sends out the first tweet criticizing her.
I’ll go first: Trump sends the first Tweet that insults Greta at 3 AM EST on September 21st, 2019.
Of course, I could have lost if he already sent that tweet out. Then we could compete to see who predicts the 2nd Tweet.

The only time taken for Saturday, Sept. 24th, is 3 AM by me, but Trump might be distracted for a few minutes with his latest scandal about blackmailing Ukraine to manufacturer dirt on Biden’s son.
However, while Trump’s White House staff and any mafiosos, US, and Russian, working for Trump in the dark, won’t forget about the Ukraine scandal, because of Trump worsening dementia, he is likely to forget soon.

The role that Robert and Rebekah Mercer have had in climate change denial should be broadcast. They are loathsome backers of Stephen Bannon.

This Bible passage says much more politely what I expressed to my husband this morning: “It’s about time for the kids to tell the adults they are being idiots.”

Her are some Greta Thunberg words: Ted talk after speaking about her autism.
“If I live to be 100, I will be alive in the year 2103. When you think about the future today, you don’t think beyond the year 2050. By then, I will in the best case, not even have lived half of my life. What happens next?
The year 2078 I will celebrate my 75th birthday. If I have children or grandchildren, maybe they will spend that day with me. Maybe they will ask me about you, the people who were around back in 2018. Maybe they will ask why you didn’t do anything while this still was time to act?
What we do or don’t do right now will affect my entire life and the lives of my children and grandchildren. What we do or don’t do right now, me and my generation can’t undo in the future.”
I have just read the latest post from Wrench in the Gears. Her near panic is informed by an understanding that economists and techies and “envitonmental impact” investors seeking profit will be making key decisions and they already are, as she illustrates. She fears, and I concur that climate change will oo easily become all about making profits and creating jobs, actitions that create the illusion of “doing something.” I get that. She is paying attention to the virtues of caring for the land and creatures great and small, among them human beings, but not only humans.
