Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that he has received “many, many awards” for his environmental policies as a developer. He also claimed at one point to be an environmentalist.
The Washington Post investigated these claims and found them to be untrue. The newspaper awarded its not-coveted Four Pinocchios award to Trump. It is not clear whether he was lying or delusional. Whatever. He is not an environmentalist. He has not won many, many awards.

Yesterday, I saw a recent clip of Trump claiming he had an uncle who was a professor at some university. So from that, Trump claims that he (Trump) is a great “academic, . . believe me.” In another clip awhile back, he says that he never reads books. “I have a great mind.” My guess: delusional. And I mean nothing humorous about that statement.

CBK,
Trump lives in an alternate reality.
Whenever he says “Believe me,” DON’T!

We can learn from the Chinese. Littlefingers Donald Trump is similar to the Chinese Communist Party and their media machine. Most of the people in China believe the opposite of what the CCP’s media machine reports. Even China’s leaders don’t trust their own media, the media they control. For instance, China’s last president would slip out secretly to walk around Beijing and talk to regular people to learn what they were thinking, because he couldn’t trust his own media machine for the actual facts of what was really going on.

Every day events really should not be breaking news. Something that happens without exception should not be news.
The day trump speaks and there is nothing wrong, now THAT would be news.

Rudy,
I have yet grown accustomed to having a president who oppposes the public interest.

To Rudy Schellekens:
To you, news is equal to bizarre stories.
When an entertainer exaggerates any BIZARRE story to boost the rating, people will not care for his lies, except laughing off his foolishness.
However, IF “the” President does not appreciate his position of being President, and he think that he is an entertainer with rating image, then his past BIZARRE “lies” will be serious damage his reputation and his previous bizarre lies will not be considered as a joke, but rather to be seen as a crime.
In short, President and his current Cabinet need to be serious and need to properly apologize for the past BIZARRE lies and to correct any BIZARRE saying. Back2basic

Yes, Trump is a nut. It’s scary. His speech before the CIA was just a jaw dropping word goulash of non sequiturs and gibberish. And he’s the president?! He’s the president of the most powerful country on earth!? And he hasn’t even really got started yet.

We should create an international/national award for the first U.S. President to earn 1st place as “Liar-Groper in Chief”.

Dear Diane,
Donald Trump has perfected a countermeasure strategy for what he perceives to be attacks by hostile media. It’s called spoofing — creating diversions, sending his attackers after false targets, thereby wasting their time and energy.
Today it’s called trolling, see today’s WSJ op-ed by Barton Swaim titled “”Trump, the Press and the Dictatorship of the Trolletariat” at
.
Additional insights can be gained via Bret Stephen’s op-ed in the same issue titled “Trump: The Reader’s Guide,” at .
The media’s counter-countermeasure is thoughtful discernment, e.g.,. asking whether or not a claim or statement is worth fact checking’

Frank

Let’s stop being cute and call out this administration for what it is: fascistic.

Lets wait and see before we start ascribing such labels and behavior. Nothing has happened so far to give any indication.
Sure. He acts like a spoiled brat. But so far he has the support of Sanders on at least one if his executive decisions.
Not only that, but he changed what will happen with a pipeline which already had an approved route – approved by a department which changed its mind when millions were spent on construction already BECAUSE the permits were approved.
You may not like that, but a government that goes back on its word is not good.
The TPT was condemned already by Clinton as well, as it was by Sanders, so no loss there.
The Republicans have acted against the ACA since it was signed into law, so no surprise there. Defunding planned parenthood will not be a surprise either since that has been hanging forever. And if I remember correct, Bush2 defunded government organizations perceived to provide abortions.
None of those fall under fascism last I heard.
CREW is trying to get the court to hear a case re emoluments, but first there needs a decision whether or not they have standing.
Picking rich people to be involved in government is a trick used by FDR, so still nothing fascist. He takes no salary, not sure about his appointees.
Unions are impressed by his moving on nafta and tpt, and by his machinations to keep jobs here. Nothing fascistic about that.
He whined that his crowds were bigger than anybody else’s crowds – kindergarten behavior, but not fascist.
He whines about illegals voting by the millions – paranoid, not fascist.
