In a tv interview, Jeb Bush praised Michigan governor Rick Snyder for his leadership in responding to the Flint water crisis.
This morning, the New York Times criticized Snyder for his lack of leadership and said it was time to take action. The editorial says the state should replace the corroded water pipes in Flint, at a cost of $1 billion.
“The conditions on the ground in Flint still do not seem to have sunk in at the Michigan statehouse. Thousands of residents are still relying on trucked-in water, as if they were in a war-zone refugee camp, while worrying that their children may suffer developmental and other health problems from a water system poisoned by lead. Gov. Rick Snyder has been busy apologizing, but the tiny steps he is taking to repair the damage shrink beside the urgency of the problem.
“The challenge now is to replace the corroded pipes or perhaps the whole water system in this city of nearly 100,000 as quickly as it can be done. The cost may reach $1 billion or more, but that cannot stand in the way of moving forward to make the city fit for habitation. No Americans should have to live with poisoned water that is a direct result of the government’s decisions and neglect.
“Mr. Snyder and officials who work for him first wasted time trying to shift blame for the catastrophe to the city — at least until an independent task force and internal emails released last week showed that the state was responsible. Now he is wasting more time by maneuvering to get out of paying the bill for the huge repairs project.”
Remember that the shut-off of safe water was supposed to save millions. A very stupid, short-sighted, inhumane decision that will cost the state hundreds of millions and leave behind brain-damaged children.

In case you thought Jeb! was in danger of a resurgence.

and Jeb is supposed to be the smarter brother.
George Bush Sr must just shake his head in disbelief of what he has produced.
In fact, I’d bet he has wondered more than once whether he is actually the father.

We should have a case of Flint’s water sent to Jeb Bush’s house. He probably wouldn’t even put it on his shrubs!

When (if?) they replace all the pipes and water system, the contracts should go to parties that are not in any way related to Michigan’s governor or lawmakers.
Independent outside experts should be brought in to oversee the project.
AND all the companies that do the work should be mandated to hire and train people from Flint to do the work.
At least then something good will come from it.

I draw people’s attention to the attempted Teflon Defense of Gov. Snyder everywhere, including on threads of this blog:
It’s not his fault but that of everyone but him. Bad implementation. He’s a leader that’s the victim of bad followers [note: many appointed by him].
Sound familiar when rheephormsters have had to explain their repeated, predictable and shameful failures?
They think they can excuse their own incompetence by a kind of managerial stack ranking known as “forced responsibility”—those in positions of authority that could have made a difference in dreadful outcomes shove all the blame and consequences on to their subordinates and anyone else possible.
For example, remember that “Got-To-Go” list principal in NY at $ucce$$ Academy? Saint Eva, at a paltry $575,000@year for 10,000 students, is just beside herself when her acolyte made her look bad. Now he’s “got-to-go.”
Easy Peasy Deasy.

Who’s JEB? Does anyone really care what he says anymore.
And, Risk Scott, our current corrupt governor, is following in JEB’s footsteps and allowing billions of gallons of polluted water from the sugar cane fields, owned by the mega billionaires the Fangual Family, to flow into the Everglades.

Jeb figures that Snyder just did what he would have done, protect everyone that counts and pretend you care when you are caught. I am sure Snyder has regrets, mainly not covering his posterior better. He does belong in jail, the Atlanta teachers did not kill anyone or poison them. People do go to jail for less than this. He can be glad he isn’t in China, their officials are executed for this sort of thin, remember the lead paint on toys that embarrassed the regime?

It’s simply amazing to see the sense of entitlement in some folks. We have gone to war for far less than this, but a man makes a decision harming countless children, and it’s just business as usual.

I’m against capital punishment, but in class like this . . .
I’m surprised the governor and his cronies haven’t been receiving death threats.
And his attempt to “prove” it wasn’t his fault by releasing some emails only proves that he is an idiot. Are you telling me that people are walking around with sample containers of brown water from their Flint taps and you proclaim, “The experts (political cronies) say the water is clean. It just needs to be boiled.” You’re the governor responsible for the whole state – use your brains for something more than a hat rack.

Now he’s spending money on a PR firm to handle this problem. Snyder needs to leave now. Give him a shovel and pick axe so he can be on a work crew to replace the pipes. All of his appointees should get the same.

It’s what we should have expected from Jeb! He admitted that the anger of people in America, came as a shock to him.
If Jeb!’s campaign managers reviewed the blogs that are read by typical Americans, it ought to be clear to them, that their candidate is finished. But, I hope they keep spending plutocratic money on the campaign. It’s the only way, dollars leave the pockets of the 0.2% and, get back into the economic system.
