Please make sure this gets to the Akron Beacon Journal (Doug Livingston). It will be seen by many of NE Ohio people who are passionate about our public schools. VERY happy to see this happening. Could it be repeated in NE Ohio, and other areas so more of us can attend?

I sent this to Doug Livingston- Akron Beacon Journal and Patrick O’Donnell – Plain Dealer. Everyone from out of town, leave early Sat am and join us! We have plenty of folks coming from Toledo, Cincinnati, Dayton and Cleveland areas. This is an important Statewide Summit for all who believe Public Education Matters. By gathering organizers and concerned parents, educators, School board members and superintendents from across the entire state , we are sending the message to the politicians, the public, the press and the profiteers that enough is enough, our kids & public education are not for sale and we are ” on the march!”

This sounds wonderful. As an Ohio teacher, it has been hard to observe all of the damage John Kasich has done to Ohio public schools. To now see him run for President of the U.S. is ridiculous. John Kasich is not for the middle class people. He wishes to take away our public schools and make it very difficult for all of us to get our children through college. I am a registered Republican, and I even can’t stand him. It will be a happy day for Ohio on the last day of John Kasich’s dictatorship.

We had a great turnout for Public Education Partners’ Ohio summit, PUBLIC EDUCATION MATTERS! Activists from all over Ohio joined us to listen, learn, network, and plan actions in their local communities.
Eldon “Cap” Lee, a public education activist from North Carolina, attended PUBLIC EDUCATION MATTERS after reading about it on this blog.
Ohio BATs leader Kelly Ann Braun described the day well when she said,
“I felt like I was on an education vacation.”
THANKS to all who participated- we should all plan on meeting for another education vacation very soon!
