Washington, D.C. Is about to get a bunch of additional charters.
Nexus Academy, part of Pearson’s Connections Academy, wants to open a school.
So does K12, which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Its stock price dropped this week after news broke about the abysmal performance of the Colorado Virtual Academy.
Rocketship is on its way, with its heavy emphasis on learning in front of a computer.
And also there will be a new Hebrew immersion charter school.

And will they also have a Turkish prayer rug?

I am wondering if that Hebrew immersion charter school is run by the same people who were trying to set one up in New Jersey (and failed)?
I thought that Hebrew immersion schools already existed, were called “Hebrew School,” and that this was taught in synagogues and temples? Or–there are private Jewish day schools. I must wonder who is running this, if it is by a for-profit and how
much money its Director is going to make? Hmmm…
