Many people have asked me what time I will be interviewed on CNN on Saturday.
I will be interviewed by Randi Kaye, who interviewed Michelle Rhee on same program.
Saturday August 18, 10-11 am.
I will do my best to present the facts and to rebut the misinformation that has been disseminated to the public about the work of our nation’s teachers and schools.

Thank you for standing up for teachers. I’ll be watching.

May I suggest all readers send this post to their local reporters, newspapers, tv stations, etc.
People need to be educated. Maybe there will be a transcript available afterwards and we can obtain a copy to send out as well.
Diane, is this recorded earlier in the week?

I managed to share the information in a comment I blogged this morning in the local paper. Somehow I managed to speak of corporations making money from education, and made sure I also included the television information for Saturday. I’ll be watching and cheering you on Diane. Thanks for all your efforts!!!

Thank you Diane. I will watch and be with you in spirit. Your blog is my daily reminder that there are many of us working to tell the truth about public schools and thereby support our wonderful students. (Yes, they are wonderful…even the ones that drive you crazy. Sometimes they are the most wonderful of all!)

Diane, please tell the public that a researcher (me) has never found any level of mean score based on varying income levels, where a poorer level achieves a greater score on a standardized test than their richer peers? I have sifted every standardized test I know including PISA, TIMSS, NAEP, ACT, and SAT, and have yet to see the mean score of a poorer group outscore the mean score of a richer group. NEVER. This holds true for every year of standardized testing I can get my hands on. When are we going to face this important factor in student learning?

It probably doesn’t hurt to remind people that it is 10-11 EST. I can’t tell you the number of shows I have missed because, of course, the Midwest is the center of the country.
