A Federal judge in Louisiana put a halt to the state voucher program and the new teacher hiring laws in one parish, saying they was likely to undercut the desegregation program.
The State Department of Education will appeal. TFA Commissioner John White believes that choice and privatization matter more than desegregation.

What else would you expect from “Teach for America.” Don’t you just love the names they give themselves, They are so Orwellian. Remember that everything stated is just the opposite of the phrases they use. Teach for America is a methodology to destroy long time teaching and prevent teachers from collecting their retirement and other benefits including proper pay. Many districts and charter schools, CHOICE, use Teach for America to make profit and lower costs. Most of their so called teachers, as they only have 5 weeks training, leave after just a few years for the commercial world as this is just something to put on your resume for the corporations who run charter and so called choice schools. Read the Stanford Study which is nationwide. Only about 17% of charter schools do even marginally better than regular public schools. If you use the “Correction Factor” which allows for charter schools not having to use most ed code and local regulation, cherry picking parents and students, not dealing with behavioral problems, ESL and special education they do not do very well at all. You have to allow for the “Correction Factor” to have a real honest look at their real performance or lack of such. Have you ever noticed that the dems and rats do not argue over education as both sides are promoters of privatization and corporatization. Think about it.
