   So Randy thinks if Trump gets impeached we all “resume a normal life”? He should practice saying “President Pence”. Unless, of course, by “normal” he means pre-Obergefell days (or even pre-Lawrence days). If Randy is worried about gay rights, the last thing he should want is Trump’s impeachment. Trump doesn’t actually care who sleeps with/marries whom. Pence does though.

     Trump has appointed two judges for SCOTUS who oppose gay rights. He has named anti-gay rights judges to District Courts and Federal Appeals Courts. Trump has named exactly the same far-right extremists that Pence would choose. Not a dime’s worth of difference between them.

       I am trying to wrap my head around the very same person who insisted there was almost no difference between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton now warning that those who believe there is little difference between Trump and Pence may have to eat their words.

       If I understand you correctly from your many posts in 2016 and today, in mathematical terms what you believe is:

       True: Trump = Hillary Clinton

       True: Trump > Mike Pence

       False: Trump = Pence

       Please correct me if I misunderstand you, but you seem to be saying that the degree of difference between Trump and Pence is very large and I specifically remember you said exactly the opposite when it came to whether there was any difference between Trump and Hillary.

       I just don’t understand why you would profess concern about Pence NOW when Donald Trump himself chose him to be his running mate and it didn’t bother you enough to be concerned enough since – as you made clear – there was no reason to vote for Hillary just to prevent Trump from becoming President since both sides were equally bad.

       So it astonishes me that you are now so concerned about Pence being President that you want to warn us about the dangers of his being so much worse than Trump!

       If you were concerned about Pence, you should have made sure that he did not have a chance to be President by voting for Hillary. Since you felt no such way then, why are you suddenly so concerned about Pence and implying there is a vast difference between Pence and Trump? Coming from someone who insisted there was no difference between Trump and Hillary Clinton, that really defies my understanding.

       If there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between Trump and Pence (which is false, btw) than why on earth would we want to replace a largely-hated, frequently irrational, mercurial and incompetent Trump, with the Christian Dominionist Pence?

       Impeachment, even if the Dems take over the House this year, is a delusion, is an immense and counterproductive waste of political energies, and will further discredit the institutions of government, making the accession of the Next Trump easier.

       What are you going to impeach Trump over? Paying hush money to Stormy Daniels? Good luck with that; it will have the effect on Democrats as Clinton’s impeachment over Monica Lewinsky (except for the likelihood that impeachment efforts will fail).

       After two years of hysteria and false reports about Trump’s collusion with Russia (ALL of which have gone nowhere; as the non-collusion convictions and pleas of Manafort and Papadopoulos demonstrate) and purported treason, which have discredited the mainstream media and McResistance, and made most Americans tune out their hysteria, as polls demonstrate. Impeachment ain’t gonna happen, and we should be glad if the Dems aren’t foolish enough to try.

       Perhaps that time and energy would be better spent fighting for universal material benefits, with a focus on the working class, which would fill the vacuum Trump filled, and which the Next Trump will take even further, if given the chance by the grifters in the McResistance.

       Impeaching Trump is impossible because it requires 67 votes in the Senate. Will never happen.

       No difference between Trump and Pence because Pence picked most of the cabinet. Pence knew DeVos. Trump never heard of her. Pence picked Scott Pruitt. Pence picked Mick Mulvaney. Pence picked TOM Price. His Tea Party friends from Congress and ALEC.

       Pence is an evangelical. Trump is his lapdog.

     So the fact that Trump is appointing justices and federal judges who are trying to roll back gay rights is perfectly fine because Trump himself should be assumed by his defenders to be someone who don’t actually care who sleeps or marries whom?

     Why do you assume Trump doesn’t care? Because of the respect he shows people who have less power than him?

       Again with the words in my mouth. Very, very tiring. I never said “perfectly fine”. Re-read my post if you need to – it’s pretty short.

       Trump may very well do anti-gay things. Not saying otherwise. But he personally has no interest or personal stake one way or another in gay issues. He’ll do whatever is convenient; he’s not going to exert a lot of effort, but he’ll do enough to keep his base happy.

       Pence, on the other hand, cares very much about gay issues (and all so-called “moral” issues). He will most definitely expend the effort to do whatever it takes to eliminate gay rights (and other rights). If he can get away with it, he’ll turn us into Uganda.

       But, fine, don’t believe me. Go ahead and clamor for Trump’s impeachment. And when you’re wearing the xtian equivalent of a burqa while we burn gays and other abominations in the streets, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

       Exactly. It certainly takes some chutzpah for the person who insisted that Trump was no different than Hillary — AFTER this person knew that Trump was over 70 years old and his VP was Mike Pence — to say “while we burn gays and other abominations in the streets, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

       Children – BABIES – were pulled crying from their parents and put into “detention” where some of them still remain.

       Don’t say we didn’t warn you, dienne77. We did. You ignored our warnings and insisted that Trump/Pence were no different than Clinton/Kaine. Don’t say we didn’t warn you about the babies sent to detention. That’s on you. We warned you and you ignored it.

       You don’t have to warn us about Mike Pence. We warned you and you insisted that the Trump/Pence ticket was absolutely, positively no worse than Clinton/Kaine.

       So when I am “wearing the xtian equivalent of a burqa while we burn gays and other abominations in the streets”, I know exactly who to blame. The person who ignored our warnings and insisted that Trump/Pence was not nearly as scary as Clinton/Kaine.

       It sure takes chutzpah to claim you are “warning” us now of the dangers of Trump/Pence when you are the person who said it didn’t matter. Over and over again.

     “So Randy thinks if Trump gets impeached we all “resume a normal life”?” Not being a mind reader, I have no idea if Randy thinks impeaching Trump will return us to what passes for normal in this country. Impeaching Trump will probably never happen but if it did, it would be a small step in slowing down the GOP agenda and Pence would not have 4 years to work his evil voodoo on the nation. Clinton’s impeachment fouled up some of his planned policies (thank goodness) and weakened his effectiveness as president.
     All that being said, anyone who doesn’t vote Democratic in November and in 2020, is delusional and I am being kind and restrained. That does mean I will vote for Bob Menendez (while holding my nose). I will not vote for the Celgene GOP guy whose company engages in price gouging drug prices and not to mention he will end up supporting the Trump “agenda.”

       BTW, Menendez is deeply hurt that you plan to hold your nose while voting for him. I’m sure that will make him change his behavior.

   all of Randy’s satiric pieces are very insightful.
   His face often ‘say’s the opposite of his mouth , so kudos to his acting skills and that mobile face.
   All Randy’s mucialmparody,s are skillful productions, and the editing is brilliant, a anyone who cam create the backdrops that put Randy vis-a-vis his ‘target.’

   His witticisms are razor sharp, and when he adds ‘the sneer,’ and the ‘wide- eyed’ “you just told a whooper” look, at those moments of great irony, he shows a comic genius.

   When he called him President, he showed the same ennui that all of us who know that a blatant fool is sitting in the oval office where Lincoln once lived.

   I have seen them all, but my favorite is ALTERNATIVE FACTS—

   WHERE HE NAILS THE UTTER CONTEMPT IN THE MENDACITY which stats that the US PRESIDENT CAN Invent FACTS.

   Gulliani said the same, in the famous comment that knocked me off my seat: “‘Truth is not truth.”

   More on MENDACITY –the piece I PROMISED THE PUBLISHER AT OEN 3 YEARS AGO…

   NO civilization or society has survived when their decisions they make are based on misinformation.

   In “Just The Facts” an artistic film which addresses this In the second part there is STORY about a man who acts upon misinformation and disinformation, rustling in—- you guessed it…. failure.

   We have to dal tight the mendacity afoot, because disinformation has been weaponized on the internet by those who would see our great country be diminished in the world.

     I think that most people who harbor such hatred for a certain demographic are deep down inside “like” that demographic. It’s something that they hate within themselves. Something that they are unable to accept in themselves.

   Diane,

   This is off-subject, but I was wondering if you were going to post anything about NYC Chancellor Carranza and Mayor de Blasio’s plan to make District 15/Brooklyn middle schools more diverse? It was just announced this week. It’s a very interesting start to an issue that has bedeviled policy-makers and politicians seemingly forever.

   While the plan does not have total support, it does have SIGNIFICANT support from parents. Sure there are very unhappy tiger parent types who believe if their child spends the 3 years of middle school without being “challenged” in a school with exclusively high performing peers and has to sit next to low performing students they will be dragged down to mediocrity for the rest of their lives.

   But there are also many District 15 parents who are sick of a rat race in which a 4th grader’s life is spent worrying about whether his report card, absences, and test scores make him good enough for a middle school for the “best” kids or “stuck” in one that isn’t.

   No doubt there will be many bumps along the road but kudos to NYC for doing something that the Mayor knows will get him attacked and criticized non-stop, especially if any little thing goes wrong that his critics can jump on.

   It reminds me of when Mayor de Blasio stuck to his guns about ending “stop and frisk” policies knowing that his loud and vicious critics were just waiting to pounce should anything go wrong.

   Kudos to DEMOCRATIC politicians trying to do the right thing. There are certainly people on here who can’t wait to jump on them as corrupt sell-outs no difference than Trump/Pence.

   Never saw RR before. He’s really good as a singer and performer. Technically I don’t think it is spoof or satire, but it’s delightful and beautifully crafted in spite of being based on wishful thinking. No impeachment. Justice Kavanaugh. Increased Republican margin in House and Senate in 2018. Reelection in 2020. Pence in 2024 and 2028. All public school teachers must swear they are conservative and members of evangelical Christian Protestant congregations and have a personal relationship with Jesus and swear never to read Howard Zinn history, and have never been members of the Communist Party, and have renounced Satan and all his works.
