Dark Money is pouring in to Denver to maintain control of the school board by advocates of privatization and high-stakes testing.
Vote for the candidates endorsed by Our Denver Our Schools. This is an organization of local Denver residents who do not have piles of billionaire cash from out of state.
This is their slate. They will fight for better education for all children, not for privatization.
Xochitl “Sochi” Gaytan, District 2
Dr. Carrie Olson, District 3
Tay Anderson, District 4
Robert Speth, At Large

The Republican Tax Plan Would Help Rich Families Send Their Children to Private School – Mother Jones

Weakening, if not the destruction, of the U.S. public school system and its replacement by profit-generating charter schools is the goal of greedy RethugliKKKans and some greedy corporate Democrats.
Because they detest true democracy, they have no belief in a public school system as the foundation of democracy. They are elitists who worship wealth and want to increase the oligarchy most of us are now struggling under.

Thank you, Diane. More contributions from Republicans as well as democrats have poured into “reform “ candidates’ coffers. Results? Robo calls, texts, flyers, it will be interesting to see how much reformers will have spent per vote with the i.e $$$.
ODOS team candidates have run great issues oriented campaigns. Denver kids, families, communities will be lucky to have these folks making education decisions for them. Let’s hope Denver voters realize this!!!

This Denver voter (and everyone I can talk to) does realize this, Jeannie. I have to thank you for knocking on my Wash Park door a few years ago and piquing my curiosity about why so much is spent on these formerly sleepy local races.
At that time I’d never heard of you or Diane, but have since read two of her books, and faithfully read both of your blogs along with other enlightened sources.
I left Denver for a while and for two years worked in a public school system in Missouri – a wonderful experience that only solidified my determination to fight the corporate takeover of our schools.
I’m back now in a different Denver neighborhood, and find that the efforts of you, Diane, and others are having an effect. Many voters who used to not think about these races are finally waking up to why hundreds of thousands of dollars are being spent from outside our state and what the privatization agenda means for our community and country.
I don’t know if it will be in this election but I do feel the tide turning, and thank you for starting my journey to becoming aware of this very important issue.

I’m voting for Julie Banuelos (juliedps.com) because I don’t want yet ANOTHER developer mucking up the works for Denver’s majority low-income students.
