Congressman Jason Chafetz is chair of the House Oversight Committee. He has the power to hold investigations of government misdeeds. He has not scheduled any hearings on the Trump-Outin connection or Trump’s conflicts of interests.
He held a town hall at home and it was packed with angry citizens. Chafetz later claimed they were all paid protestors from out of state.
One teacher gave him a lesson. Watch.

This came out two days ago. I wasn’t aware of it. I hope there is an investigation into Trump’s connection with Russia. This is complete nonsense.

Russia Considers Returning Snowden to U.S. to ‘Curry Favor’ With Trump: Official on NBCNews.com
…The White House had no comment, but the Justice Department told NBC News it would welcome the return of Snowden, who currently faces federal charges that carry a minimum of 30 years in prison. Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said talk about returning Snowden is “nonsense.”
If he were returned to American soil, Snowden — a divisive figure in America who is seen by some as a hero and others as treasonous — would face an administration that has condemned him in the strongest terms.
“I think he’s a total traitor and I would deal with him harshly,” Trump said in July. “And if I were president, Putin would give him over.” In October 2013, Trump tweeted: “Snowden is a spy who should be executed.”…

From newyorker.com: DeVos Says Trump’s Forty-Per-Cent Approval Rating Means More Than Half of Country Supports Him
“To you critics out there who think you’re in the majority, I have some advice for you,” the new Secretary of Education said. “Do the math.”

But don’t deny the wonders that can be wrought with rheephorm math. For example, charters that get 100% graduation rates. Then there are charters where 100% of their students go on to college. More wonderful yet, miracle teachers like Michelle Rhee taking “her” [forget that pesky co-teacher!] students from the 13th to the 90th percentiles.
Rheeally! But not really…
So Borowitz’s send up of Betsy DeVos is, sadly, much less of an exaggeration than one might think.

Also, there’s an earlier Borowitz about DeVos’ meeting a book for the first time (upon her swearing in).
Thank G-d for Borowitz!
(Also, the season premiere of “Last Week Tonight” w/John Oliver was on last night…SO good.)

I love it.
But I think the malignant narcissist in the White House, his mostly deplorable cabinet and White House staff, and most if not all of the elected Republicans in the federal and state governments are deaf and must be reminded of a quote by Thomas Jefferson.
… “And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
“Let them take arms.
“The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two?
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. …”

There are millions of patriots but only two tyrants in the White House today, and their names are Donald Trump and Steve Bannon.

I see what you are preparing us for, General Lofthouse. I understand that there are 3 million more of us than them, and this is comforting, but how about the count of those with guns? Aren’t we outnumbered 10 to 1 there?

From what I’ve read about how the military voted, about 45 percent voted for Hillary and 55 percent for Trump. But more officers voted for Trump while more enlisted me voted for Clinton. There are more than 20 million veterans and the break down is about the same, I think.
That’s a lot of armed and trained warriors. How many would fight for Trump vs those who would fight to preserve the U.S. Constitution and our republic against the serial lying, fraud, con-man, malignant narcissist tyrant in the White House?

Thanks. So you think, General, the military would be involved in the conflict? I would have thought, it would be a civil conflict, and big machinery wouldn’t be involved, only guns we could buy at Brass pro shops.
Here is my daughter checking out a gun there.

I left the Marines an E4, a corporal. No way was I ever officer material then. Now, I don’t know.
I think that scoped rifle your daughter is holding would knock her over from the recoil if she fired it unless it’s a 22 caliber.
I think it will eventually reach the level of a violent and bloody civil conflict when peaceful protests only results in insulting tweets and threats, but when the malignant narcissist in the White House declares martial law and sends in the military to mow down children, mothers, grandparents, fathers, brothers, cousins, and friends, the military is going to split.
Just like the 1st U.S. Civil War, some will join the civilians leading the Civil War and some will support Little fingers. The only way to avoid the 2nd U.S. Civil War is if the GOP in Congress and/or the courts act and stop Littlefingers from becoming the brutal dictator he obviously wants to be.

Actually, I asked a friend of mine who is more than 20 years younger then me. He served for 14 years and fought in the middle east. Four years in the Marines and then the rest in Special Forces. He’s seen some serious shit in war zones.
I asked him if he would fight for Trump or to save the U.S. Constitution from Trump. He said he’d fight to save the Constitution.
The U.S. military today is the most educated military in U.S. history, and I think many of the military voters who votes for Trump were voting against Hillary.

The PAID PROTESTORS line must be exposed, reviled, debunked and ridiculed; it is a line also being used by other Senators who are finding themselves under pressure by constituents — constituents likely to find this irresponsible “Trump” line of dismissal very insulting.

They’ll be surprised when these so called “out of state” protesters vote them out of office.
Then they will cry that election fraud is rife throughout their states.
