Veteran educator Tim Slekar runs a super website, where he features the latest and greatest in the battle to restore good sense to education. It is called #Busted Pencils.
Tim lived for many years in Pennsylvania, where he fought against high-stakes testing. Now he is Dean of Education at Edgewood College in Wisconsin, the belly of the Walkerbeast.
Here is a list of all 15 episodes. Sit back and enjoy.

Sorry, off-topic, but the term “neoliberalism” comes up here a lot and there seems to be a lot of confusion about what the term means and what it is. This article is very important for explaining the roots of neoliberalism, what it is and how it’s poisoning us all in so many ways. While I’m quite passionately anti-education rephorm, I always try to remember that it is only one branch of what is going on and that we always need to pay attention to the bigger picture.

Diane, it turns out that Howard Blume, education writer for the LA Times, was at the NC conference, and posted an article on the paper’s website site: http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-north-carolina-teachers-20160425-story.html.
“Education group enters ‘belly of the beast’ to oppose North Carolina’s LGBT law”

Thanks for the link. Of course, in the article linked to that one, Obama is encouraging people to still come to North Carolina and Mississippi for tourism because they’ll be greeted with “warm hospitality”. Could the man be any more out of touch? Encouraging people to go and spend their hard earned money for tourism in states where LGBTQ people are most certainly *not* greeted with warm hospitality? Had he lived 200 years ago, he himself would not have enjoyed the “hospitality” of those states.

We didn’t start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world’s been turning
We didn’t start the fire
No we didn’t light it
But we tried to fight it
