I don’t normally like AFV (except for the cute animal and kid videos) because I don’t think it’s right to laugh at people getting hurt. But I’ll make an exception for this video – it should win the $100,000 award this year.
Not to defend Ted Cruz, but maybe he saw that Carly was already being helped by others and that his efforts were not needed? In any case, it’s ridiculous for him to pick a running mate when he’s so far behind. Thank goodness that Cruz does not stand a chance (thus far) of occupying the White House. He’s just as bad, possibly worse than Trump. I will be voting for Bernie in the NJ primary and then for Hillary in the general election.
I believe Ted’s wife offered help, and Carly refused it, and that Ted saw that she was fine (and Carly didn’t want to make it an issue, to not direct attention to herself). Do we criticize others for their apparent flaws just because of their political persuasions, as much as we criticize those of the party we agree with? Do we “strain at a gnat and swallow a camel” in a hypocritical way, forgetting that we ourselves are not perfectly just, moral and charitable.
Do we point out the 1% flaws in individuals, ignoring their 99% integrity and justice? I ask this regardless if one is Left or Right.
“Hilarious” is the degree some will go to in order to stain the name or cause of those they politically dislike??
I dunno, my mother taught me that when you see that someone is hurt, especially a friend, colleague, your vice presidential running mate, etc., you stop what you’re doing and go to offer help, even if everyone else already is. The welfare of the one really does outweigh the party of the moment for everyone else. And, yes, I’d say the same thing if it had been a Democrat.
Dienne, It’s obvious from the video that his wife offers Carly help, Carly refuses because she is already on her feet (only misstepping of a low stage) and by the time Ted sees her she is fine. So, I dunno how you can conclude otherwise. Are any of us 99% integrity, and have earned the right to be overly critical of the foibles of others. We tend to look at the sawdust in others’ eyes, while ignoring the tree growing out of our own, especially during political races.
Like the time Jim Halpert let Michael Scott fall into the koi pond.
