Donald Trump released a video portraying himself as a savior made by God to save the world. “God made Trump.”
If it weren’t so serious, it would be hilarious as he talks about how hard he works, from Dawn until past midnight. It was widely reported that he stayed in his residence until noon every day to watch FOX. That was known as “executive time.”
While it is true that God made Trump, he made ALL of us, and that doesn’t make him any more special than the rest of us.
“While it is true. . . .”
Which god?
The Papuan Pig Goddess, Duane, ofc. She’s not just about pigs, you know.
Belief in the electoral saviors, selected by the
appointed, is conditioning that blurs reality.
L. Spooner gave some a clue…
“A man is none the less a slave because he is
allowed to choose a new master once in a term of years.
Neither are a people any the less slaves because permitted
periodically to choose new masters.”
Sets a new benchmark in the “You can’t make this stuff up” category.
I come from Queens and know and met regular people who had interactions with him from the time he was a kid. There was his Spanish teacher from Kew Forest who he mercilessly harassed causing him to be expelled. There eas a candy store owner who rented a store from the Trumps and ho made sure his teen daughter was never working in the store when Don collected rent because he would try to rub up against her. The retired contractor who he refused to pay and had to go to court to get the money. This took 7 years. The teacher who slipped and fell entering a store in Trump Tower because he violated code by waxing the entrance. It took four years for her medical bills to be paid and at trial he sent a personal letter demeaning this lowly teachers who only went to court to connive money from a rich man. This is no messiah but the creepiest creep ever.
“I come from Queens. . . .”
My condolences! 😉
Duane,
You should visit Queens! It is an incredible mix of people from all backgrounds — many of them first generation or newly arrived immigrants from virtually every country on this planet — with amazing restaurants and food shops.
Being old enough to recall when Brooklyn was constantly derided, and “the bridge and tunnel crowd” was code for people whose very presence meant the establishment was to be avoided, I found it hilarious when everything suddenly changed and admitting “I’m from Brooklyn” was considered bragging because a whole generation thought it was so cool.
Today’s young people are moving to Queens. Not just because the housing is more affordable, but because it’s much more interesting and diverse. In a couple of years, folks won’t be able to say “I’m from Queens” without people thinking they are showing off and trying to make the listeners jealous!
I live now in Plainview on Long Island.
Most New Yorkers understood Trump as a bombastic, womanizing, self-promoter and flimflam man. Nobody truly estimated how vile, hateful and dangerous he is.
He showed his colors when he doubled down on his claims about The Central Park Five. He’ll never admit to making a mistake…and he’s made some big ones:
He did indeed. The most absurd organization on the planet today has to be the one called “Blacks for Trump.” That’s like “Field Mice for Feral Cats.”

The ad must have been made by cynical hucksters who wanted to throw red meat to ignorant peasants.
The business firm of Bill Ackman, who is a zealot for unfettered capitalism and a zealot against DEI, owns a large share in the companies, Chipotle, Popeyes and two other fast food firms (31% of holdings), according to Motley Fool, 1-24-2024.
The right of center, National Post, published Ackman’s opinion for all to read. 1-5-2024
The beauty of the marketplace is that customers can express their views, demand for the products or not, and, they can write to companies at their websites.
Fun fact: The white power sign used by Trump supporters is also the American Sign Language (ASL) sign for asshole.
Good catch, Bob.
That’s also the meaning of the OK hand signal in Russian.
Before traveling in South America, we were advised not to use the “OK” sign because it meant “I want to F you” in many countries.
Nostradamus predicted that in 2024 a Nordic demi-god would have a lethal lightning bolt shot up his ass.
haaaaa!
Yep! He’s a messiah…..of greed and avarice. Ain’t nothing like the Jesus I learned about in Sunday school.
He worships only himself.
Why waste your time and energy
Trump is a self-serving vulgarian and vandal that will say and do anything to seize power and money. It is pitiful that so many pathetic people in this country blindly believe anything he says. He is his brand. Never in the history of the world has horse manure sold this well. The only thing he deserves is jail time for his numerous crimes.
Exactly right. He is an utter POS.
I have had it with people dissing horse manure!
True that. Horse manure is much more valuable and useful than is Donald Trump. Though both are pungent.
As one who shoveled horse manure for awhile, that job was by far preferable to having to listen to La Donald spew verbal sewage.
Top 10 Questions to Ask Repugnican Candidates, 2024
by Reporter on the American Political Farce Bob Shepherd (adapted from Wajahat Ali)
Who won the 2020 Election?
What issue tore the country apart in the mid nineteenth century and caused the Civil War?
Are CRT and DEI the only subjects taught in universities now?
Just how good was slavery for black people and in what ways?
Putin said that he didn’t interfere in the 2016 election, so why doesn’t Marxist fake new media believe him?
Is climate change real?
Should the remaining school librarians, along with drag queens, be locked up to prevent more grooming?
When exactly because of course it’s happening any time now is President Trump’s healthcare plan coming? (which is much better than Obamacare which used to be Romneycare who is the worst DIN0 if you want to know the truth, coming)
What other great models of leadership exist in the world today aside from Kim and Putin and Donald Trump?
And what about Hunter’s laptop?
Proper Repugnican Answers:
Donald Trump won the 2020 Election, but it was stolen from him by the Democrats and Venezuela.
In the mid nineteen century, the United States was ripped apart by a disagreement over federal government overreach.
Because the administrators and professors are all a bunch of Marxists who hate and want to destroy America.
It was great for them. They got to sing about Jesus and dance all day, when they weren’t learning important skills like bending over and toting.
Because they hate and want to destroy America.
Climate change is a Chinese hoax created to ruin the best economy in the history of the world, which we had before Biden stole the election, and the hoax is perpetrated by a Chinese bot named Greta and by scientists wanting to bilk the government of your tax dollars.
School librarians and drag queens are the greatest threats to America today after Hunter Biden–even worse than teachers’ unions. They should be dealt with accordingly.
The greatest healthcare plan in the history of healthcare plans is coming any day now and you won’t believe how great it is people call me up and say Mr. President, you should have been a doctor, this is such a great plan, but ofc I’m smarter than doctors, just look at how much money I have I’m like loaded I have so much because you see it’s like racehorses or models some are winners and some are losers and I’m a winner.
OK. This is a trick question because you got it all wrong. There is only one person who can solve the problems the world and America are facing today and that person is Donald Trump. So, greatest leader? Donald Trump or Jebus and who knows these might be one and the same person.
Finally someone mentions the most pressing issue of our time. Hunter’s laptop. When I am elected again, I will weaponize the military to lock up everyone who did not actively work to prosecute the Biden Crime Family because of the actual evidence on Hunter’s laptop just ask Rudy.
cx: worst RINO
cx: Why are CRT and DEI the only subjects taught in universities now?
“ What other great models of leadership exist in the world today aside from Kim and Putin and Donald Trump?”
Let’s not forget Victor Orban, President of Florida. Very strong. Very powerful.
LOL. Jair Bolsonaro. Narendra Modi. Rodrigo Duerte. Min Aung Hlaing. Alexander Lukashenko. Lex Luthor. Thanos. Brainiac.
If an Antichrist ever exists, Traitor Trump is the closest we’ve ever come.
“Antichrist, the polar opposite and ultimate enemy of Christ. According to Christian tradition, he will reign terribly in the period prior to the Last Judgment. The term Antichrist first appeared in the Letters of John (1 John 2:18, 2:22, and 4:3; 2 John 1:7), and the fully developed story of Antichrist’s life and reign is found in medieval texts. As applied to various individuals and institutions for nearly two millennia, Antichrist and precursor of Antichrist have been, and remain, terms of the most intense opprobrium.”

True, Lloyd.
The most insightful criticisms of Trump often appear in National Review, a respectable conservative publication that hammers him dozens of times every week, with both the staff writers and a large majority of the commenters joining in the criticism. Here is a reader comment to the recent essay titled “Donald Trump: Instrument of God”.
Poll by Deseret News/Harris X, showing responses among Republicans:
“Is this political figure a person of faith?” Trump 64%, Pence 56%, Romney 34%, Biden 13%
“Is this political figure religious?” Pence 62%, Trump 47%, Romney 45%, Biden 26%
“Why do you say Donald Trump is a person of faith/religious?”
“Has a strong moral compass” 43%
“Is honest and trustworthy” 49%
“Makes ethical decisions” 50%
“Defends people of faith in the U.S.” 67%
“Supports policies focused on families” 60%
“Cares about people like me” 54%
Needless to say the results were different among Democrats and Independents. Look up story “Most Republicans think Donald Trump is a person of faith. We asked why”

If stronger adjectives have yet to tame rump,
will
more of the same work in 2024?
Is name calling the mark of sophistication?
Does speaking in terms of what was,
change what is?
Does reciting a speech written for you,
show more than the thoughts of the
speech writers?
Absolutely. What we should do in the face of Donald Trump is be completely silent about him.
NOT
ROFL.
Is name calling a mark of sophistication?
Hmmm. Let’s ask Jonathan Swift and Voltaire about that.
And H.L. Mencken
There was a debate on Diane’s blog a few years back about whether Democrats should stoop so low as to use their own phrases akin to Let’s Go, Brandon. There was much talk about how we should be above such talk. I argued that negative social sanction is a powerful motivator. This is what killed the open telling of racist and sexist jokes that was so common when I was a child, for example.
I, for one, have collected or invented countless names to refer to Glorious Leader Who Shines More Orange Than Does the Sun, he of the troll-doll yellow hair and the Cuckoo Coup, the Man with No Plan and the Tan in the Can, IQ45, Trumpty Dumpty, The Idiot, Teflon Don: the Sequel, Vladimir’s Agent Orange, Moscow’s Agent Governing Amercia (MAGA), Jabba the Trump, Don Cheeto “Little Fingers” Trumpbalone, the Posterboy for Malignant Pathological Narcissism, Dog-Whistle Don, the Bloated Bloviator, and so on,
Alas, none of these epithets fully captures the lowness/vileness of this Childman in the Promised Land. Thus the slight pang of regret with which I drop them into writing and conversation.
O, for a Muse of Fire, that would be equal to the task! My mother, when texting about him, has hit on a wise solution to this vexing problem. She just uses a pile of doo emoji in place of the name.
But I have made this suggestion for commemorating him with a slight tweak to our language:
Four years after January 6 as he continues to deny his role from his “wink, wink” “march to the Capitol peacefully” speech to doing nothing hours later when he was fully aware it became violent – a lot has changed! It’s worse.
Google “trump lies disturbing quotes”
Pages and pages and pages of articles are listed- “Top 15 most disturbing…” “10 worst things…”, a 2018 WAPO article “President Trump has made 4,229 false or misleading claims in 558 days,” NYT article in 2021 “The Complete List of Trump’s Twitter Insults (2015-2021)” – – – the list of lists goes on and on. Add the words “women” or “race” to the search and it’s sickening. Add “demeaning” and they are flat out disgusting. Describing his words and actions as “outrageous” are bygone days; he believes what he says and is serious when he says it.
A lot has changed.
His words are astronomically more incendiary. And every time we hear “well, this is the one that will get his followers to drop him” or “he really crossed the line this time” it is quickly forgotten and there’s a worse one the next day.
So my January 6, 2024 questions are (still):
1. How can GOP state and federal elected officials and candidates take an Oath on the Bible and be silent on his heinous comments?
2. Why aren’t the media asking the elected officials and making them answer every single day until the day they respond and either say it sickens them or it’s ok with them?
3. What do the nice, conservative, regular people representatives looking into the eyes of their daughters and granddaughters say when they ask “How can you support this man?”
I would settle for Trump getting the same swift and complete action of the law that ordinary people get. His disgusting ass should be in prison many, many, many times over.
Thank you, In the Heartland.
Your part of the US seems to support Trump. Ask your elected officials and let us know what they say.
I think everyone running for office should be asked if they believe that Biden was elected in 2020.
If they say no, they should not be elected.
in the heartland
Trump’s supporters view him as protecting a tradition- White over Black, men over women and straight over gay.
Right wing Catholics joined with evangelicals to advance the conservative religion that has kept women and Black people in 2nd class citizenship. Trump is their guy.
The question about media coverage can be answered in part by the fact that they view the central states as flyover states. Media is largely NY and DC- based. In the Northeast the religious are liberal and the population votes
Democratic.
Diane recently posted articles by two prominent journalists, one wrote, the GOP is dead (despite the fact that the majority of governors and legislatures in the US are Republican). The other one made an all-inclusive list of Trump supporters and failed to identify the religious right among them.
When you believe your own propaganda…
This happens to almost every very wealthy and/or very powerful person. He or she gets surrounded by sycophants and toadies and starts to do just this. Bill Gates is surrounded by people who feed off Bill Gates and tell him that he is a genius. Same with The Idiot.
Perhaps he’s given us another reason to keep him off the ballot – for sure he lacks “a sound mind”.
Donald Trump is actually insane. This is no exaggeration. He is a malignant pathological narcissist. He grossly distorts reality and believes his distortions, and that’s what distinguishes a psychopath from a run-of-the-mill neurotic. It was shocking that his cabinet did not make the decision to remove him because he is not of sound mind. He’s totally nuts, on the level of someone who thinks he or she is Jeanne d’Arc or Napoleon Bonaparte.
Please read this. It was tweeted by Ron Filipkowski:
“Trump followed up 47 posts about E. Jean Carroll last night with a speech about magnets in water connected to John Deere tractors while sweating through a riff to Iowans that they just need to “get over it” after a mass shooting at one of their schools then walked off dancing.”
With the tweet of Trump “dancing,” which means swinging his arms.
If anyone knows how to copy the video, please do. It’s actually frightening to see him.

Here’s The Idiot claiming that if he had been president instead of Abraham Lincoln, there would have been no Civil War. “Abraham Lincoln. Of course, If he had negotiated it, you probably wouldn’t even know who Abraham Lincoln was.”
SO, there you have if folks. The Civil War happened because Lincoln didn’t “negotiate it” and could have been avoided if The Orange Idiot had been on the job.
That is utterly insane. Wonder what kind of deal he would have made with the Confederacy. Has he suggested yet how he could have prevented world War 1 and 2, the Korean War, and every other war?
“Is Trump the Messiah?” – Not in a million plus years !
using a “Heather” word: I’m gobsmacked!
Haaaa!!!
Drop him into Lake Michigan and let’s see if he can walk on water
Love that idea.
Do not light a cigarette near him.
What is the difference between Trump and the Hindenburg?
Both are a flaming Nazi gasbags, but only one is a dirigible.
Thanks for a hearty laugh, Bob
Flaming Nazi gasbags!
If the messiah is supposed to fulfill a prophecy of the end of the world as we know it, then yes, Trump is the messiah. Trump is definitely biblical in his ways. He’s like a flood or a plague of locusts. It’s fun to picture Trump as a biblical figure, really. Moses leads the people to the Red Sea and instead of parting the sea, tells them they will not drown if they drink bleach. Sarah gives Hagar to Abraham, but not before Trump gives Sarah and Hagar a grope backstage at a beauty contest.
Love your analogies, LCT!
The video should begin, “God created plagues, and God created Donald Trump.”
OMG. ROFL. Dying here. Hilarious.
I’ve said it before– The problem is not trump, the problem is the tens of millions of our neighbors, businessmen, and politicians who believe him and believe in him.
Mark,
We can’t change them but we can change him—get him out of controlling our lives.
But the bigger problem is that so many of our fellow Americans are not honest, don’t participate in democracy, don’t understand it, and don’t want it.
If they can’t have trump, they will find someone else of his ilk. There are many waiting in line to take his place, and millions of our neighbors ready, waiting and dedicated to casting their votes for someone they fancy will magically fix everything they dislike and eliminate the need ever to vote again.
A solution requires acknowledgment that right wing Catholics and evangelicals pose a threat to democracy.
Both Christopher Rufo and Notre Dame Prof. Nicole Stelle Garnet (good friend of Amy Comey Barrett) are Fellows at Koch’s Manhattan Institute. Garnet is the legal scholar credited as most influential in advancing religious charter schools.
When the citizens have voted, they have opposed excessive bans on abortion and privatization that gives school tax dollars to profiteers and religious.
In a nation where Jefferson warned, in every age, in every country, the priest aligns with the despot, taxpayers have made Catholic organizations the nation’s 3rd largest employer. The religious have usurped government function. A characteristic of democracies in the world is a limited role for religion.
Agreed that there are many who will step in to replace Trump…but none of them have his money or celebrity appeal. The Apprentice was an incredibly popular show for years.
I have an (elderly) aunt who thinks god picked Trumped…she only watches Fox and Newsmax and game shows on television and doesn’t read.
But that’s hardly an excuse.
Research showed 40% of people who self identify as evangelical don’t attend church. Is your aunt among them or, is she getting messaging from her church? Media reported that Steve Bannon geofenced Catholic Churches for Republican messaging.
“40% of self-identified evangelicals don’t attend church”
Thank you–never heard this. What were the reasons given by them and/or the researchers? Their church was not extreme enough? Their definition of “evangelical” was more aggressive?
They were often too busy with their romantic getaways with their cousins.
That too!
This ad borders on “amateur” in its production, which actually makes it even more effective in terms of reaching and galvanizing its’ intended audience.
It’s strange to consider that there are many who view Trump as their man because, like them, he’s “not smart”. He doesn’t look down on them because he’s not part of “the intellectual elite”. So it’s effective to keep the ads short, simple, “unpolished”, and entertaining (starting with the black and white footage of the planet from outer space).
While it’s true that the ad targets the “religious” right, it’s also directed towards an audience that’s weak in the area of critical thinking.
One thing I’m hoping for: swing voters who will be as alarmed as I am that someone running for the highest political office in the nation would have the audacity to claim to be The Messiah.
