Don’t forget, too, that a lot of people read your blog through an RSS feed. Those numbers won’t show up in your page views, so your reach is even greater than the 3 million page views you can see.
MPullen, I didn’t know that. That’s very encouraging. I use this space both to share information and to enable educators to speak without filters. Both are necessary since the mainstream media do neither.
The first 1,000,000 page view milestone doesn’t seem that long ago. The tide is indeed turning, and all our efforts, through your blog, are empowered to make a greater contribution. Thank you Diane for stepping up and answering this need, and thanks also to the hundreds of thousands of us who are using your blog as a base, and turning back the arrogant corporatists.
I suspect some of these 3,000,000 page views are from the mainstream media, where progressive voices now join in and follow up every day. Here’s Maureen Downey, for instance:

No other blog on the Internet offers a safe haven for those who are sick of the groundless attacks on our public schools, our teachers, and our students. We are heard.

Congratulations. I agree with Dottie’s post. Thank you for your tireless campaign to save public education. You are the main reason I have any hope that its future will be a bright one, maybe not soon, but soon enough for my as-yet unborn grandchildren (my girls are 15 and 22, so I’m allowing for some time for the country to come to its senses).
Thanks for giving me hope. Although I’m an educator, I’m really here as a public school mother first, so some good news during discouraging times is welcome.

I congratulate you on reaching three million readers to your blog/writings. When I met you several years ago I knew that you could be to the education industry what Ralph Nader was to safety in the automotive industry.
I was recently the honorary recipient selected for an administrative exit strategy after a successful teaching career. How many teachers will continue to loose their jobs due to administrative bullying?
How does one stand up for what would NEVER be tolerated if a student was bullied this way and when the powers that be use distractors? I am a Catch – 22. I can swallow my pride and walk away but I feel like this situation could be the “Norma Rae” of the educational system. Let freedom ring. Many brave people fought against many injustices. I wish that I could confront the people who have created this nightmare that I’ve been experiencing. I don’t want to breakdown and I certainly don’t want to sellout.

I am so glad this blog is reaching the masses. And with numbers still growing, the media will have to notice as well. I recently saw a response by Winerip on his “Our Generation” column. The comment was about how much his ed articles were missed, and he responded he missed it too.
