Arkansas Public School Communities Funeral, Sponsored By: Grassroots Arkansas, the Central Arkansas Democratic Socialists of America, Arkansas Community Organizations, the National Association of Social Workers in Arkansas, and Arkansas Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival
Little Rock, AR —
What – Arkansas Public Schools & Communities Funeral
When – Monday, August 17, 2020, 6 PM.
Where – Arkansas State Capitol, starting at the Little Rock Nine Memorial and ending on the Capitol front steps.
Join us on Monday, Aug. 17 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Arkansas State Capitol for a visual demonstration of the continued and intentional endangering of Arkansas’ children, teachers, educators, parents, grandparents, families, schools, and communities by the State of Arkansas during the ongoing COVID 19 crisis.
By continuing to withhold economic resources from Arkansans, by continuing to plan for forced school reopenings in the face of CDC best practices, and by ignoring the impossibility of safe physical attendance in the classroom, Governor Hutchinson and the State of Arkansas are sacrificing the lives and well-being of our communities so that he can stand in front of the cameras and say that “Arkansas Is Open For Business”.
We will practice 6ft distancing, wear masks, and use hand sanitizer.

This may by a “mock funeral” but I really believe it is a practice and demonstration of what is to come.
I doubt the Arkansas Governor and his weak minions will show up for this funeral. They definitely will never show up for any of the future funerals caused by their stupidity.
Gotta keep that economy open so that the Walton family can rake in the money. All those low paid/low benefit Walmart workers need the daycare that schools provide. It’s ALL about the money. Sad thing is….nobody will be buying anything from the grave.
Yep. Six-feet distancing or six-feet under.
Hi Ed. Do you have a new email address?
Hi, Tom. Same one… edwjohnson@aol.com
Thank you for posting this. Let every one of my friends in Arkansas know about it.
Somebody better start doing something in Iowa. Not a good covid positivity rate: Iowa was one of the states banned from IL, but guv. Kim (I would call her “Dim”) Reynolds has refused school boards’ request for waivers & ordered the schools open anyway, because she would not want to displease her masters, it45 & Cruella DeVil.
No one in the nation knew for days about the terrible storms (tornadoes, derechos) that hit Iowa (the same day the Chicago area was being battered), because she clamped down on the news. Terrible power outages & destruction in the state.
We in Chicago–& the rest of the country–knew what had happened the same day where we live.
Time for Dems in Iowa to start a campaign to replace the incompetent governor
I’m totally frightened for our nation’s kids and teachers. How I wish we weren’t rushing headlong into this disaster!
