I saw this ad during the Super Bowl. I didn’t realize that it was significantly altered from its original form.
Watch the video of the unaltered ad, and you will see why Fox required the ad to be edited to remove controversial material.
The Anheuser Busch commercial was also controversial. It tells the story of the journey of Adolphus Busch’s journey to America in the 19th century. It is inspiring and uplifting. Some people were talking about boycotting Anheuser Busch and Budweiser because of the commercial. Sad. Americans have always been proud of the stories of people who struggled to get to this country and to make a way for themselves.
AirBnB aired a commercial that poked a finger in the eye of racism, xenophobia, and the general ugliness of our time.
Coca Cola sponsored an ad that was originally produced in 2014, in which people of all ages and ethnicities sing “America the Beautiful” in eight different languages. Some people allegedly got angry. Apparently they saw the commercial as an insult to our new presidente, not a tribute to our inclusive nation. Nuts to them.
They are all worth watching. Until November 2016, no one would have thought they were controversial.
Strange times we live in.

What a beautiful commercial, and I hear that the 84 lumber site crashed last night when so many people went to the site to view the whole thing. We have such a beautiful country and when it showed the arial view of “the wall” it looked so ugly. Imagine never being able to look across the desert again (from either side). I remember coming home late one night and watching as citizens were tearing down the wall in Germany. It was so moving watching people discover what had not been seen for many years (from either side).

I also thought there was to be an ad for Betsy Devos? but maybe that was just a rumor? Or maybe I wasn’t watching very closely?

There is a full-blown ad campaign urging viewers to support DeVos but it was not on Super Bowl

The link to the unaltered ad sent me to the sponsor’s site but the ad would not run. When I went back to your blog to try to comment on this fact, your blog would not let me post. If I tried to post independently, the reply box did not include a post button. When I first tried to reply though another post, the comment disappeared when I hit the button to post. Strange.

Was it my imagination or were there fewer ads than usual? It seemed like there were many promos for Fox/Fox network shows. I can’t find anything online that indicates such, but it just seemed that there were beau coups promos.

Anheuser Busch’s headquarters are in Missouri. Today, the state passed ALEC’s anti-union right-to-work law. A-B should be boycotted for being anti-worker. The millions that corporations spent on ads could have been spent to influence Wall Street to stop being a 2% drag on American GDP, which forces labor to work harder to keep their jobs, while receiving none of the rewards for THEIR productivity gains.

I had the FOX pregame on for hours while I did my taxes and grading. They had some pro-DeVos ads on display. The ads blamed Betsy’s confirmation woes not on incompetence or conflicts of interest, but on Elizabeth Warren. It’s all her fault!!!!! The ads said Warren is engaging in obstruction because she’s an angry liberal. Making America Great Again makes her angry. DeVos will save you from the angry liberals. Next, we watch some nice, pacific football.
