Such a special girl! So thankful, so humble, so grateful…when’s the last time a human presented those qualities, huh? She is beautiful and so blessed to have you as her mom.

My dog is a rescued dog. She was found on the side of Interstate 10 in the desert in the middle of July, barely alive. She’s a German shepherd on a corgi chassis. Best dogs in the world, rescued dogs.
Mitzi has already brought a smile to the faces of those of us who
follow this blog…she brought out a bit of the soft side, I won’t go so far as to say sweet side, of Harlan.
Thank you Diane for rescueing beautiful Mitzi and thank you Mitzi
for rescueing us with a smile from the intensity of our times and
even putting a smile on Harlan who reminds us that children grow up and yes, even get big.
Mitzi is adorable. For some reasons, and I don’t really want to think about them, black dogs are usually the last to get adopted. All my dogs have been black and rescued from kill shelters. I congratulate you for doing the same. I hope Mitzi gives you as much love as you’ve shown her.
Yes, black cats and dogs are often not adopted and black cats are sometimes abused by crazies so they are sometimes not adoptable in late September through October. Mitzi shows her peronality so well in her picture. She’s very photogenic and a keeper.
My black cats (one living, one now gone)were both shelter cats and the second one I picked for the above reasons – she’s the sweetest girl in the world.
Congratulations on the newest member of your family. She is beautiful. Thank you for rescuing her. My older daughter spent her life devoted to animal rescue. She always said when you rescue an animal you are saving two-the one you rescued and the one who took your rescue’s place at the shelter.
Thank you again
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I know she will bring you great joy. Our old “rescue cat” gives us companionship, laughs, “conversation”, and a constant reminder that we share this world with other creatures.
I like how she gave you her profile. Clearly she’s a pro.
🙂

Yes! Rescues are the best. So say all of ours.
What a sweet, intelligent looking dog. She will get BIG.

Too cute.
Wow, Diane, what a beauty. I’m jealous.
Mitzi Ravitch and her mommy are survivors. Does she have an email address? Sheena

Adorable. Congrats on your new little girl.
How wonderful, Diane, that you went to a shelter!!! And what a cutie!!!

Black cats, too. We rescued a young black cat last September. We have little space (condo), and my fiancĂ© came with two cats already, so others thought we were crazy for rescuing yet another–but we just knew this little guy needed us, and we needed him. A lot of people won’t take black cats which is a shame. Playful, curious, loving–Pepper is the light of my life.

What a wonderfully expressive face! She’s a cutie pie.
What a sweetie, we’ve just been inspired to maybe finally do the same!
So happy for you. Dogs add so much to our lives. Mitzi looks like great dog.

Happy Gotcha Day!
SO CUTE
Happy for both of you.
Diane,
As Temple Grandin titled her book, “Animals make us human.”
She’s darling. Love the white patch. Maybe her ears will stand up. Ni modo. She’s great the way she is. Glad you two found each other.
LOVE this honey!
